Small stone or glass crystal paperweight sound needed

Looking in tdm_sfx_impact.sndshd I see a couple of large stone sounds with a link to http://creativecommons.org/licenses/sampling+/1.0/ but I find that confusing. Following the link it's not clear where the sounds came from or who made them. I was hoping to find a freeware website of sound effects.

is just the link to the license, not to the original sound or sound library. Sorry,can't help you more.

As Tels says, that's just the licence, and was put in the soundshader merely to note the terms under which the sounds are available for use, for future reference.

 

http://www.soundsnap.com and http://www.freesound.org are the best free sources of sound effects that I know of.


My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

OK, thanks. I'll check them out some time and see if I can find a suitable one. That flat stone slab sound in SL was only ever a placeholder. Haven't we got someone gathering general sounds for TDM? I suppose there's a list of needed sounds somewhere.

No. Not really. :laugh::mellow: The sound department has been more or less dead for as long as I can remember, apart from the odd once-off submission here and there and a few attempted revivals.

 

I suppose there's a list of needed sounds somewhere.

Maybe - only listened to it in a player not in game and in a noisy room. I'll check it out later with the actual paperweight. Thanks.

No, this doesnt' work for me. It sounds distant and rubbery soft. It does have a ring to it so might be right for if hit with the cosh or dropped onto a carpet.

 

What is needed really is a basic general-purpose small to medium stone - a hard sound, close up. This would probably work for this crystal paperweight as well as more importantly providing a sound for the small stones and slabs we have.
