I would say, if you're unsure about the game, get it on a sale. It will be worth it. Your description definitely oversimplifies it, 'though.

I agree with @STiFU about Prey though, it was a great game (although it had some backtracking indeed). Mooncrash wasn't really great though, IMO.

Yeah add me to the list of folks who adore Prey. I didn't quite click with Mooncrash though, think I have an abandoned playthrough still. Which is disappointing since it's clearly a whole new region with new enemies, lore and areas to explore. You could actually adapt it to a mini-expansion like the DLCs from Dishonored for example, but they wanted to add a twist to the gameplay and it doesn't quite work for me.
