  1. Can anyone remember or know if there is a slippery decal or texture? I remember seeing it somewhere but been looking for 30 mins and can`t find it.
  2. Any one wish to beta test my mission. It`s a small mission and my first so I really just need the advice and recommendations that I`m going in the right direction and it will be final so I can move on to something a little more challenging.

  4. Hi all, Looking forward to the release of TDM 2.0. I`ll beta test pre-release packages if you would like another to participate. I`m really waiting for 2.0 to test my first mission out on as it seems a fence model bug was fixed and I don`t wan`t to replace all those fences for 1.08 if it`s fixed in 2.0. Springheel pointed out it could be the spiked fence models and that it`s been fixed in 2.0. I`m assuming he`s tested it on 2.0 and it ran fine for him.
  5. Lux I`m new to all this so I`m a bit confused as to what I should do but you can use this thread as I`m always checking it if you have some bug to report. Add: I think with the help of Springheel we may have found the cause of the crashing. It looks like there is a bug in some fence models in TDM 1.08. The models are: models/darkmod/architecture/fencing/fence_spike_01_tall_2_segments.ase models/darkmod/architecture/fencing/fence_spike_01_tall_4_segments.ase I`m either going to wait\get 2.0 or else replace offending models.
  6. I think I`ve ran into the same issue using same models and TDM 1.08 the game will crash first time every time I try to start the mission but the second time it will start properly?
  7. I just added to a brush difficulty0Name normal etc. just to see but was wandering if I have no diff_#_nospawn set on any entity will that entity spawn in all difficulties? Thanks Obsttorte I thought as much. tried it any way and same thing second try got me in to the game first crashed.
  8. I`m still having troubles with my first map but I think I may be onto something. I have no Difficulty levels implemented at all and was wandering if this may have something to do with the mission crashing as it`s loading.
  9. Sorry guy`s it`s been a long week. Iv`e got the mission at a reasonable performance level but I`m having a major issue with it crashing the first time it`s run in TDM. If I start TDM back up and start the mission it boots in to the game but the first time every time it crashes TDM? Any Ideas.
  10. @Lux thanks I still can`t work out why my map is crashing. The .pk4 file has the correct files and the title and load menues all work but click start mission and half way through loading DM crashes. This leads me to believe it`s a map error or multiple errors within the map. Any ideas or can anyone take a look at the map for me? These files are the dmap output .txt files. conDump_before_dmap_dumpx.txt conDump_after_dmap_dumpx.txt
  11. Thanks stumpy there are 9 files there so I`ve ran it 9 times just couldn`t find the files and why search didn`t pick them up is another thing. thanks again. I ran the conDump and also the logfile 2 and they spit out some strange stuff. The q console file has a lot of stuff I know nothing about and some I`ve fixed like there was a briefing.xd error i mannaged to remove ( simple formating error).   12. That`s the thing Springheel Where? It`s not outputting anything I`ve looked everywhere I can think of and done a system wide search and nada. Seems like something of mine may be corrupt I hope not but time to start testing for me. Thanks for the reply though.
  13. Is there a way I can dump the console output? I`ve tried conDump and logfile 2 but niether seem to be outputting anything. Having a bit of trouble my map keeps crashing from mission menu but all works fine if I map it. Help and suggestions are Appreciated.
  14. I need help getting my map to load in darkmod as a mission(.pk4). I know I`m missing something but what? the screen cap is inside the .pk4 file. I notice most if not all have a def folder and file, guis with assets and maps within but where/how do I generate or get them? Was going to use startpack and import my map and mess around to fix it but Woundering if there`s an easier way? By the way @Fidcal under (Playing Project FMs in Dark Mod) in your Startpack Mappers` Guide there is this : ( If you use tdmlauncher.exe to launch Dark Mod then you can install your map project as the current FM and it will remain current each time you launch tdmlauncher - at least until you install another FM or delete darkmod\currentfm.txt +set fs_game_base darkmod +set fs_game mymap ). Does this still work with darkmod.exe as tdmlauncher.exe is nolonger?
  15. Thanks to Springheel for pointing me in the right direction. I Have A very small mission I made following Fidcals tutorial and tips from some of the members here. Hoping someone will betatest it and give me some feed back but remember i have a dalicate temperiment and i need some objective and constructive input as to what the hell I`m doing. Anyone want to waste 10 mins on a first mission please let me know and I`ll upload to you.
  16. Jaxa how many eyes does one need to see that far\much? You`d have to be 50 feet away but I would if I could afford tripple 2160p displays and they could take at least 60Hz input signal and of course the quad sli\crossfire setup required could be kept cool enough:) hahaha. I look forward to seeing a video of this sooner or later it`s going to happen i think, just a matter of time.
  17. Hi all would any one have the time and like to test my map and give me some feed back\suggestions. It`s a very small map made following Fidcals tut and my first so go easy on me.
  18. HI ALL, I know it`s late but I just have to chime in on an audible aspect of the experience but first I need some peanut butter on toast. Sound and audible input is all one needs to be engrossed in an epic stealth marathon. I was thinking perhaps have some of the AI say Just out of the ordinary (Hay! Do you need to be there)When Searching or (What Tha) When alerted or (Don`t make me, ah)or when the AI is about to give up and return to it`s patrol say (why me) or (bugger this). Maybe a third kind of narration (I`m to old for this) or (Some ones going to pay) or (Ah better not) or (I`m not here to Please) or you overhear an in game dialogue and say (you wish) or (As If) or ( I don`t think it really matters do you?). I think it`s a great idea and should be implemented more in game but I also agree with Sotha that to much in game dialogue would distract from the experience but I suppose it depends on the mapper and the mission and story he\she is trying to convey. For instance I love reading a book or note and deciphering the hints within, On the other hand it could be implemented so as to enhance the story telling. Forgive my blotted input, I hope it helps in some small way.
  19. It would be close to perfect in 4k res on one display. I can`t stand the bedazzles so I got One 120 Hz 1080p Display and stuck with it. Of cause I`m using two displays but only one when gaming ...MMMMM. Post some more vids But zoom or focus on just the displays when recording, I don`t want to see you playing the game If I cant Play it Grrrrrr. Very Cool..... I think it appears better in portrait mode (thinner bezels) and better view Range IMHO.

Started mapping about 3 or 4 weeks ago (whenever my first post on this forum was) and I`m looking straight up at a huge incline of pain and learning but I still love trying and the guy`s here are always willing to offer advice when hounded Ha.Working on two maps at the moment tweaking my first built following the guide by Fidcal and a second inspired from the first. I think you should at least install and mess with Dark Radiant.All in all I`m from the same boat as you I play all Stealth Games and have played all I could get of the FM`s by Fidcal,Bikerdude and the legends of (TTMA) that's Thief the metal age. In-fact I still get nostalgic and start em up once in a while. It`s good for inspiration.I Would Like To Thank All You Mappers, Coders, and Contributors for educating me in the mathematics of HEX......a BitDon`t Know You But Love you all:) One day I`m going to do this on a blog or MMM maybe not. @richardpaddington Please pay em and Join in the fun.
  21. Melan I find that there is always something to add or fix But have this strange feeling that it`s a never ending trial.I still think the more one puts in the more everyone gets out. Still there is a limit.Looking forward to your missions.
  22. <p> Fidcal you r a f#$n hero.Man I`m working on my first small map called (SolarEscape) with 5 objectives including the exit objective so really 4 and this is all following the guide made by oh wait a minute YOU. So I started visportalling the Doors Then windows and Cave segments and Wow man Huge out door area Doh. I remember thinking to my self : Should have done this as I was building.I hope I`m writing about the right subject if not straighten me up will you all.
  23. Wow I know exactly what you want to do but it`s way above my head. Only thing I can think of is to somehow maybe trigger grabable from 1 to 0 upon entering stim or when objective completes but this probably would`nt work either as the item is still being held? I think it is possible somehow.
