So I'm confused
Heya!
SpoilerDid you turn the power on for the vault? There should be a hint saying that you need to go to the flooded cistern to power everything up. In retrospect, I do think I made this a little bit too complex. But it was my first FM, hope you can forgive me for the confusion

Sorry if this has been reported yet: I don't know if it's version 2.10, or this mission, but, right at the beginning, I came across a Builder I can't knock out. The blackjack does absolutely nothing to him. It goes right through him, without doing anything.
Thanks for pointing this out, I will take a look and work on pushing out an update for this soon

Fantastic mission! Of all the 2.10 releases, I was looking forward to this one the most, and it delivered.
Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! Thanks for playing!
As for your question:Spoilerthis is actually an area dedicated to grayman, a TDM developer who sadly passed away not too long ago. There you will find his grave stone and his iconic sword you can interact with. Beyond that, though, there is no loot, objectives, or secrets. We just wanted to keep the focus on grayman.

Thank you so much for playing it! And the feedback as well I do plan on doing an update..... sometime in the near future, so I will add these issues to the list

Hey! Thank you for playing!!! To answer your questions:
Spoiler1. This is kind of a diabolical one, but take a closer look at some steps near the tower.
2. This is a secret so I won't outright give it away, but there is a clue in the readable at the thief's den. I recommend taking a much closer look with the spectacles

Iris now features "grammar" thanks to @Amadeuswho for reasons beyond me agreed to edit 106 pages xdata and the result is a much more readable experience
ahem, 116 pages, thank you very much Congrats on the update, though! Looking forward to checking out how you managed to improve a masterpiece

That sounds like Sotha's FM The Transaction. It is one I just replayed that is a part of his Thomas Porter campaign

I just really wish SOMEONE would stick something up there one of these days for us weirdos to find.
I thought I was being pretty good about that, but I can see I was wrong. Next time, I will leave a hidden goodie in the heavens for only the most devout climbers, promise

Man, it doesn't seem like anyone can keep you inside a map

One question:
Hey, thanks for playing, glad to hear you enjoyed it! As for your question, nah, he's just out for the night, nothing particularly interesting is going on with him; Arnas, however, seems to have a secret or two
-
thank you @AluminumHaste and @madtaffer for pointing this stuff out. I'm gonna do a runthrough tonight using beta 8 to see what's up

But when I finally got around to testing that, it didn't work until I also did "set target on flame" "<trigger hurt name>"
That's strange; the light_bucketflame_small entities throughout Written do not require the "set target on flame" spawnarg, only a target to the trigger hurt. Must be something different with the bonfire entity

Setting a higher default value alleviates the crash:
Just tried it, that seems to have fixed it. If xray views is the culprit then other FMs with xrays should probably be tested to using Stencil Shadows as well.
@Dave the TafferSorry you had to deal with the crash! Hopefully you will enjoy the mission now though

It happens when you don't use Shadow Maps ( r_shadows 2 ).
So I just checked Written, and it crashes for me as well when I don't have shadow maps enabled. This isn't the case for 2.10 beta5 and beta 6, because I did do some testing on that FM with Stencil enabled and everything worked fine.

Bring Jedi on too! For me, at least, the whole point of the contest was to have fun creating something under a deadline. I think the more contestants we have the better! Bring him onboard

No objections from me. The more the merrier!

Alright gang, and @Filizitas, version 1.1 is finally up! It can be downloaded in the OP or here from Onedrive or Google Drive. This fix comes with a fair bit of bug fixes, quality of life improvements and better ways to take out certain AI. Happy thieving!
EDIT: Also, it is recommended to update to 2.10b6 because of several fixes for the new features in this mission.- 7

Yes!!!!! It has been a long time coming, I am very happy for you! Congrats man!

Thanks for playing guys! Good luck on those secrets

Ha, I guess I should clarify. I love the opening scene on the homestead (horrifying, lol), and the ship scene, but those are both like 5 minute scenes, whereas time on the Sun Coast seems to drag a little longer than it should. There was just something about the Sun Coast that didn't hold my interest. But once you head toward Ark, then it was all fun and games and not a single complaint

All of that massively spoilt the beginning for me.
I 100 percent agree with you on Enderal's beginning. It is far from ideal. I just found the Sun Coast to be dreadfully boring, tbh. I dread it when starting a new playthough and try to run to the Ark as fast as I can. That said, the beginning is pretty much the only major downside and the rest of the game makes up for this flaw tenfold

Thanks mango777! I'm glad you two are enjoying it! This FM was a herculean effort made by myself, Dragofer, and Bikerdude, but it is always great to hear that the fruits of our labor have paid off
