  1. Alright. Didn't know that was the correct term for them. Finally managed to kill one with 6 water arrows i think, while being in a place where he couldn't get to me.
  2. Thanks! I'll try the holy water again then, although it didn't seem to work when i tried (i shot like 3 arrows, then i was attacked). Just picked up a fire arrow too, so that should work as well. Edit: Ok, so i just figured that the armored skeletons are harder to kill than zombies. They can take up to 5 or 6 water arrows (couldn't try more as it went after me lol...) and 2 fire arrows to kill. A mine kills them instantly though.
  3. Ok, quick question, probably easily answered, but i can't find anything about it in the forum search... how do i permanently get rid of the skeletons? I tried with holy water arrows, blackjacking and sword, but none of those seem to work. So i wonder if i can get rid of them at all. Hope somebody can help me..
  4. Maybe they modelled the main character after this guy: Ok, a bit unlikely...
  5. Alright. Didn't really make much use of the wall hug tbh, as i'm more of a K.O. guy than a ghoster. Indeed a bit sucky if they can bump into you, and they still don't see you...
  6. Has it never been fixed, also not in later versions? I could have sworn i got caught one or 2 times when hugging the wall when the AI bumped into me...
  7. How a bug turns a feature.
  8. Well, nevermind. Not worth a discussion IMO.
  9. No, but it sounded as if it was a fact which it surely isn't. You said "That's the problem". Well obviously it's not a general problem, but the one you personally have with it. Anyway, each to its like of course. I can very well live with people not enjoying what they're seeing. I just doubt that it's the general view, even for those who enjoyed the old Thief games.
  10. Yeah, that was about the only issue i had with the controls in Thief 3. Pretty easy to get used to though, as it was quite forseeable and not random.
  11. If you want to call those issues. There were no rope arrows in Thief 3, that's true, there were climbing gloves though. Glowing blue arrow trails i can't remember, not sure what it means though, third person gameplay was optional. Actually Thief 3 featured an additional movement skill, as you were able to press yourself against walls, making you completely invisible in narrow corridors. Of course also subjective whether that's an enrichment or not. I liked the loot glint btw. It wasn't too obvious, but making it easier to spot things i might have overseen in Thief 1 & 2. Again, personal preference whether you like that or not. Unarguably Deadly Shadows had the best soundtrack of all parts though.
  12. I've read much about the new Thief game on TTLG, and here, and i can't help myself. I think even if they would have made the game compliant to the old Thief games, the Thief community is pretty strict upon what is right and what not for a Thief game. For example, for me, Thief Deadly Shadows also was a real Thief game, which had most if not everything the "classic" Thief games made enjoyable. But it got a pretty harsh bashing on TTLG, for example people thought the control was a mess (it wasn't really, i think people didn't get that the character first moves his head, and then moves his body when you look around), or were complaining about some missing movement options (which is also pretty much nonsense, every movement of 2 also was there in Thief 3). Anyway, i think the game dev's wouldn't have made themselves a favour with taking on the complete Thief's lore, because 1. New players won't know about it anyway and 2. They can only lose that way, if i take a look at all the reactions and the bashing it got over on TTLG when there weren't even facts available about the actual gameplay. Not sure, maybe they would have done better to do a comnpletely new game, so people don't expect the 4th remix of the same old thing, which honestly it would be, if you don't change the game dynamics. Personally, i look forward to the new Thief, even though i hardly will be able to play it on this old machine... probably time for a new PC soon. The gameplay videos gace me at least the typical sneaky stealth Thief feeling, i first felt a bit overwhelmded by the visuals, as it is nowadays, they have to exaggerate on that a bit, but you get used to it when you focus on the important stuff. Also i believe they made some senseful additions to the gameplay, which should make looking for the favored way of doing things interesting.
  13. Meh, voted for no, but now i read the posts in this thread i'm leaning more towards a yes. Can i change my vote?
  14. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/14545-offer-voice-acting-sample-inside/ I read another thread with some samples i liked even more, but can't find it now. I think he's really able to capture the style of the original actor very well. Reminds me much of it.
  15. What i heard from TylerVocal in another thread makes me think there's no point for that even.

    Outcast 2? :)

Looks like it's all good: http://www.openoutca...?p=33915#p33915 Edit: Oh, i see now that that has already been posted here...
  17. To be honest, nowadays games always seem a bit overwhelming to me in the visuals. It's just too much. If you take a look at the new Thief game for example, complete visual overkill. Seems to me like the presentation is the most important thing in modern games, the gameplay is kind of secondary. Really like the dark mod look, it's not exaggerated, there's not an excessive amount of effects, it's simple and works.
  18. Funnily i've been having an idea for a map some days ago, and thought about getting into map making. The amount of complexity of the editor scares me a bit though... i never used something like it. But maybe i'll give it a shot one day.
  19. I think there weren't any. Only some skeletons in the basement. There definitely were some in the "Heart of Lone Salvation" mission though.
  20. I think they did count as no-kill objective in the mission "The Alchemist".
  21. I found those quite sweet actually. Up to the point where i felt bad when i had to erase them for the hammerites.
  22. Wow, so many "excellent" votes in every category... seems like i got to play this! I also like series, already played the Thief's Den series, and most of the Thomas Porter series, which are both excellent and highly recommended btw. Even simple connections between the different missions make quite an impact on the gameplay, it's just fun and adds a lot of atmosphere if the missions are connected. Looking forward to play this.
  23. I somehow got used to the spiders in the Thief games. Didn't like them first, but now they're alright. Although i wonder why they are the only animals present in the series, and why they vary in size too.
