  1. I loved WS1. One of my favorite missions. I didn't care all that much for WS2 because it seemed to be a lot more rooftop based. I tend to favor missions on the ground. I will most definitely play WS3 now and then WS4 as well.
  2. Yes, I just noticed this same problem. This is very distracting. Can it be fixed?
  3. Cleighmoor is another good one. Thanks grayman!
  4. I am looking for fan missions that use falling snow and the only one I can find is The Parcel. Is that right? Are there no other fan missions that use falling snow? Thomas Porter: Mandrasola has snow but no falling snow like The Parcel. I think the effect looks really cool and I'm kind of surprised that there are no other fms that use it. Are there any others?
  5. Yeah, I don't use soft shadows. I can't tell the difference too much with shadows so I figured it's not worth a performance hit. I have a gtx1080 with 16gb ram and an i7 processor so I guess that's why I can play the darkmod at 4k and get 60fps with multi core enhancement turned on.
  6. Sounds good. Looking forward to 2.07! ?
  7. So far, I haven't experienced any crashes with this setting on. I am using the 416.94 Nvidia drivers on Windows 7. I have been testing several fan missions and they have all been running at a solid 60 fps. I have only encountered frame rate issues with two missions, A New Job Mission 1 and Briarwood Manor. Multi core enhancement doesn't seem to help these two. In A New Job M1, if you exit the tavern and enter the short tunnel in front of the tavern and turn around and face the tavern, the frame rate drops into the 30s for me. In Briarwood Manor, the entire outside area dips into the 30s.
  8. I wonder if something like multi core enhancement could be implemented in the dark engine for Thief 2? It seems like lately more and more Thief 2 fan mission creators are pushing the boundaries of the dark engine at the cost of frame rate. For instance, I just played an excellent mission called CNSD. It was a wonderful experience and the mission was very well designed, except that in many places the frame rate takes a dive to the 30s-40s. Would something like multi core enhancement be feasible for Thief 2?
  9. I have a gtx1080 with 16gb ram and a i7-4790k processor.
  10. YES! I thank each and every one of those guys! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I love this setting. Please don't ever remove it. I just redownloaded "In the Black" and I am now flying through it at a solid 60 fps, whereas I had lots of frame rate issues with that mission when it first came out. Thanks again!
  11. I haven't played the darkmod in a little while and I just discovered a new setting in the advanced video section called multi core enhancement. I cannot express enough how awesome this setting is! With multi core enhancement on, I can play any mission at 4k resolution with absolutely no frame rate drops. Was this implemented with version 2.06? Maybe I just never noticed it before? Whoever is responsible, I am truly grateful. In my opinion, this is the most brilliant setting ever for the darkmod!
  12. Have you tried the new advanced video setting... multi core enhancement? I believe it is new with version 2.06. I can play any mission now at 4k resolution at 60fps with this setting on.
  13. I noticed this as well until I just found a new setting in the video options.. multi core enhancement. This seems to eliminate the frame rate issues I was having for the most part. Multi core enhancement is still a little inconsistent though in version 2.06.
  14. I agree with Tarhiel. I was also getting fluctuations in frame rate in this mission until I just found a new setting in the video options... multi core enhancement. This seems to work really well. I am very pleased.
  15. Thanks AluminumHaste for the tip on changing the ambient setting. That's pretty cool. You saved this mission for me. I was going to move on to another mission because it was just way too dark. However, changing the ambient to 050 is perfect. I don't like to change my gamma setting just for one mission. Thanks!
  16. Well said chakkman. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  17. The frame rate drops in this mission into the 30s for me whenever I enter the tavern in the beginning. Must be the lighting? I also hate forced ghosting and that's what this mission does by limiting the knockouts to only two. I'll have to pass on this one.
  18. Loved this mission except for the frame rate. There were just too many places inside and outside the mansion where I would face a certain way and get 30fps. This can be helped some by setting ambient rendering to simple and by disabling the post processing. However, I really wish these places where the frame rate drops to 30 could be fixed. It's a shame too because the mansion is so incredibly beautiful. I was going to add this one to my walkthrough website, but I just can't deal with all these places where the frame rate drops. A consistent solid frame rate is very important to me. By the way, my pc has a GTX 1080 with 16GB of ram and I can play pretty much any other mission at 4k resolution and 60fps.
  19. This is why I love normal difficulty so much. It's more of a pleasurable experience for me.
  20. You can find a blackjack at the very beginning of the mission on normal difficulty. I added PD2 and PD3 to my walkthrough website. http://darkmodfanwalks.weebly.com/penny-dreadful-2-all-the-way-up.html
  21. Thanks Moonbo, that was the only issue I ran into. I just finished the mission and found it to be highly enjoyable! It's definitely one of the best Darkmod missions I have ever played. I went back and replayed the two chambers area over and over. Whenever I made sure to wait until the person speaking completely finished what they were saying before I moved on, there was no freeze/crash. But if I hurried through and left before they stopped talking, then sometimes it would freeze up. Maybe it had to do with quickly running over too many conversation triggers or something. Anyway, the best thing to do is to take it slowly and wait until they are done speaking before proceeding.
  22. This mission keeps freezing up for me in the second chamber to where I have to cntrl-alt-delete to get out. This has happened to me several times now after I get the lockpick and return to the second chamber. I tried repeating this section several times and almost every time ends up with a lockup freeze. I've never experienced anything like this in any other mission. I did find something interesting though. If I wait for each conversation to end before proceeding, then it doesn't freeze up. But if I hurry through each room without letting the conversations end then it can freeze up in that second chamber.
