  1. Whether something is "better" is totally subjective, I'm glad you think it's great, I don't agree but that doesn't really matter. You like it, I do to, I just find it technically lacking compared to the work we're doing here, but that doesn't mean it won't look good.
  2. It looks very atmospheric but DarkMod kills it in terms of graphics. I see very low poly hallways and props, but...charming texture work. I'm sure it will be great if they can get it finished though, good luck to them.
  3. Nope no good, I don't have enough time to learn this stuff again. I'm working 6 days a week now 8 hours a day, and when I'm home I have my son and don't have more than just a few hours something less than 1 hour to look at the code and everytime I start over reading the code I'm lost again. So sorry, not going to be able to work on this. I barely have enough time to work on my map. I liked it better when I was unemployed lol.
  4. Glad you enjoyed it, give the editor a try now that you have the mod resources to play with.
  5. That's funny, I was just looking at that page and the last update was 8 months ago. Looks really bad for us, as most people assume that all those mods evaporate.
  6. Looks amazing, can't wait to test the new combat system too!!! <3
  7. Anyone can learn to control their equilibrium when dizzy, and not get sick and puke as far as I know. I had a friend in gradeschool who used to hate getting dizzy as she would always puke after like 10 turns, but her mother enrolled her in figure skating and after about 1 year she could spin in a circle for hours and not get sick or dizzy. I mean, a skater has to be able to spin around in circles and come out of it and be able to continue right? They do it all the time and don't get sick. As far as I know, getting dizzy from being spun is partly due to the inner ear, the fluid that helps balance you when your eyes are closed. But if you have some problem that you were born with, like extreme sensitivity to motion sickness, then I'm not sure how much you can improve on that. But maybe not as my brother used to never be able to read in the car for more than 5 minutes without feeling like he was going to puke, but now he can read for hours without feelings sick. And me, I can read all day all night while the car does doughnuts and I won't get sick.
  8. Probably the same way that ballet dancers and figure skaters can spin around in circles a million times without getting dizzy; by doing it over and over again, your body gets used to the movement and compensates. IE you don't get dizzy anymore.
  9. Don't forget to make backups FIRST I've had this happen to me before and this is how I fixed it. I opened the .map file in editplus. I opened the map in DarkRadiant (Latest Build). I then went to EditPlus and selected everything and deleted it and saved it. I then went to DarkRadiant and hit the Save button. The map file was rebuilt and the problem went away. I don't know what version I was using but that fixed it somehow. The problem happened twice and that fixed it both times. Don't forget to make backups FIRST
  10. That was sweet, but I love the disclaimer at the end of the video about how this is NOT the accepted view of the 10 dimensions lol
  11. Yeah I totally agree with that
  12. Okay I added some more to the article, but time to go home now from work YAY!!!!
  13. HEHE you're funny But okay I'll bite, here's a first rough draft: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php/Layers
  14. ZING, it's just that if all the effort that people put into arguing they instead put into, I don't know...say the wiki, we'd have enough articles to rival wikipedia.
  15. It's not that, why are we arguing about such a small subject? Isn't there like, I don't know, work do to? Or is DarkRadiant so close to being finished that it's down to arguing about the little details? That would be cool I guess.
  16. As it stands the functionality is there regardless of it's name, can we PLEASE move on?
  17. Yes I saw that one as it was talking about trees. A little more helpful, I'll try to play with the particles later as I can also check the bonehoard map as they put in a water fall there also.
  18. I've been wanting to add water to the water fall part of the map in which the player slides down and grabs a hanging rope, but I don't know how to edit particles beyond opening the particle editor in Doom 3. Could someone with the know-how add a tutorial to the dark wiki pretty please???
  19. I'm not used to code that complicated so I have no real practice following it.
