  3. dear degineth thanks for your time. I wanna make some personal comments.. 1- I think the GLOW around the text is too big and color is seriously wrong..You can try little bit more Thief Colors, which is more dark night blue. And glow itself is huge and its opacity level seriously much. It annoyed me..but again it s my personal opinion. i am adding the link of my favorite thief page for you.. http://www.thief-thecircle.com/ Of course our website is drastically different but the mood and color tones must be similar like this.. 2- And personally i dont like that much thick boxes in the website designs, everything can be mixed smoothly. Plus The upper titles are not in harmony. Text sizes are different and therefore attention is on the "FAQ" title. 3- I loved your smooth transition on the banner. But i think the pictures are not suitable. Springheel's banner (original banner) is conveying the MOOD of the city. Overhere you are seeing a Wall and a closed window and a dark corridor.. Because of that shot is yellow-orange color you probably chose the yellow Glow.. I think it would be nice to Reconsider our original banner (which is hand drawn and for me much more precious) and play with right side of that banner...Just an idea.. If you think about the meaning of the banner it s so much better to give some WIDE looking cityscape than a wall and dark corridor.. what do you think.. But again thanks for your time..(you worked till morning..). This is my personal opinion..wait for the others..especially the LEADS... BEST

  5. dear oDDity just another oDDity classic...I especially liked the texturing. I think you are master of texturing as well.This is Top notch. After seeing Lightwave's texturing best sellers books i URGE you to THINK seriously about writing LW book or making video tutorials... This is a masterpiece a lesson.. Im forcing myself to find some weak points There is none...if i force myself insanely to tell something i might say "the boots.." You may make it more used and old.CUz the chains are very old and rusty but his boots are so clean..that s the only thing...Other than that..It s on my Desktop..! BEST

  7. dear MASTER WAlking and running perfect... And if you are making them with your own hand without using any motion capture data ..It s breathtaking... You guys agree about Sword animation i agree with you too.. Oddity you can try to do that movement from the other side .it will be so much easier for you to make it ... IK and FK adjustments because of the nature of the movement will be pretty easy... And you are DAMN MASTER of ARTs .. i have used all my praises for you ..i m out of praise for today...Just read the other posts... (and the good thing is You are getting into Motion builder and maya at the same time you ll be INVINCIBLE Guy soon.) BEST

In a second I got my NormalMap.. without tweaking stuff. . Dear BlackThief: from now on i ll be your officially texture assistant..I was twirling around the engine and everything was blurry.. I downloaded hundreds of free hi-res textures and couldnt find the make a cool Normal Maps.. No fucking more We can go insane normal maps on the generators, lamps, sofas... I can guess oDDity's reaction "welcome to earth " but hey i came right ..somehow:) BEST
  9. dear SPAR Thanks God you are here Actually im really trying to make it but the damn stuff is not writing NORMAL map.tga ..May be oDDity can solve the puzzle.. he can also say to me that normal map plugin in lightwave is the case but i dont know yet I ll be checking doomworld3.org for further detail.. This means we will have great looking Normal Maps.. .ID quality.. BEST
  10. dear TEAM I was checking the NET for better NORMAL map making..ANd you know or you dont...know ID was not making the NORMAL MAP with Photoshop.. I was tweaking the textures and all of them making me crazy ..Black Theif knows what i mean.. So .. I learnt something today... "see" 1- they are modelling the OBJECT in Lightwave...and triple it.. 2- Putting the Doom3 engine and writing a CODE over there 3- Doom 3 editor creates a perfect Normal Map...for that object because it s using actual 3d reference from the 3d model. 4- they are recieving 2 perfect normal map tga Am i the only one who learnt this just right now? or is it a good news? or this is happening because of my broken WATCH this is the link http://www.chainsaw.cz/clanky/normalmaps.php# (of course there can be good results with Nvidia Plugin in photoshop but it s taking huge time for creating seriously convincing textures) (I didnt udnerstand where im gonna write that renderbump code though ??) But what i wanna ask is WHAT is the ANIMATION flow...I mean..Are you exporting FBX to MotionBUilder than MAYA or MAX? And if it s the case ...you are using DAVE3d 's skeleton model for animation upload to Motion Builder???? questions questions.. And what i offer you is to make LIGHTWAVE SPECIAL THREAD for this knowledges and everything.. BEST

  15. dear Domarius When i first watched THIEF the Dark Project intro one thing exploded in my eyes..immediately ..THE COMBINATION of different forms.. There are 3d renderings, 2d concept art, 2d animation and ACTUAL video footage. And all of them combined together almost invisible technic... Any further question will be answered gladly Ah yes...Those effects can be done both 2d and 3d..They are combining all art forms in perfect unity...So one frame is 3d and the other one 2d with 3d art on it.. It s hard to write you know...But after effects+photoshop+3d software ...is your answer. They used 3d max so it was 3d max... Let say victoria s morph is a lovely unity of 3d + 2d additional effects.. That s the beauty of thief.. I mean you know how much thief FAN loved the game just for those Cutscenes...first BEST
  16. dear Natureboy im another modeller in the team..I think i can make some comments too..And remember oDDity made almost same comments on me while im modelling a character.. So listen this. Tree is not good...This is not a tree..I mean It s like beveling multiple polygons at once...In lightwave it takes 2 minutes (even less)..30 minutes is so much for that one...BUT keep on reading...because your zombie is GOOD I dont wanna defend anyone but i wanna make a comment on oDDity's comment. I know oDDity i know his "thirst for quality" and he has right to comment like this. I had his comments as im modelling and i was almost having a heart attack..But you know what...I m so much better now...Im getting even better with my characters..His one harsh critic made me realize that i have to go back to anatomy classes. Im building a fresh character modelling skills..ANd of course it was harsh from him, but he helped me alot..THAT is HONEST part...Do not take it as a personal, but as a professional critic. And if it makes you turn red...That s a good sign..Cuz you gonna learn more and more..(I experienced this and it really helped me) but YOUR zombie is really cool..I mean if you ask me ZBRUSH is a very different modelling tool it may confuse you time to time..In polygonal modelling software s thing are really hard, flows are important and making a single polygon is a very serious decision.. In ZBRUSH (an awesome program) everything is different. Polygons are reaching millions in seconds and this is FATAL in game design. ALthough im modeller for 7 years im still trying to learn optimising my hi-poly objects ...So do not get me wrong... It s not a wrong program but it s suitable for movie quality modellings..such as LOTR.. You said you use Softimage ..That s nice. If you say that you can model that ZOmbie in Softimage with polygons and import it into Doomengine with using normal maps.... it would be brilliant..Trust me the modelling is fun part but importing, making UVs tweaking, polygon reducing... This is the problem part..(otherwise i would have completed all models in one month) Conversions after conversions..... just because of different programs have different strenghts..And game designers are using Best Software combo for modelling and animation..for their games.. In this case for Doom3 combo is Lightwave (max) (modelling) + Maya (max) (animation) Trust me if you go with ZBRUSH+Softimage combo you will get crazy with your first model. So expand your horizon, re-test your modelling skills with traditional modelling softwares...and give your decision (of course give a try to Lightwave!) BEST
