Chest & footlocker prefabs glitch correction howto

Some of the chest prefabs had a fault and became unfrobable if reclosed. This was bad if the player blocked the opening and frobbed again because then any contents were lost inside forever. The ones affected were:

 

chest_metal.pfb

chest_wood_old.pfb

footlocker.pfb

 

To correct, all you need do is:

Find the tiny lockpin on the lock and select it.

In Entity Inspector add the property immune_to_target_setfrobable and value 1.

 

[EDIT] Also recommend you remove the frob_peer property from both chest lid and chest body. see two posts down.

Reviewing these and I now recommend you remove the frob_peer property from both chest lid and chest body. They were meant to sync the frob highlights but it acts strange even though you can still use the chest. I'm finding the chest lid won't highlight when closed and only sometimes when opened! Without the frob_peer then both chest body and lid highlight but separately as you look at them and you can use frob, key, or lockpick on either lid or body. Not ideal imo but at least it is intuitive and natural that you can frob focus on whatever you are looking at and there should be no confusion. ;)

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
