Leaks...

Sorry, I'm really greeny with this mappers stuff...

I'm using "A - Z Beginner Full Guide" with Dark Radiant. But still I can't understood, how to create not only "openable" doors, but doorways.

As I understood, I should:

0. Create block brush with "make room";

1. Create "static" door;

2. Assign for the door classname "atdm:mover_door";

3. Create 2 more copyes of wall, and curtain them away, making doorway...

But after that I get "leaking" error.

PS: sorry for my bad english...

A "leak" is when your map has a gap somewhere to the "void" (the grey area in DR outside the map). The map is like a submarine underwater; you can't have any leaks to the outside; it has to be absolutely airtight.

The way you find the leak is to click in DR file->pointfile, and you should see a red line that passes through the leak. Then you need to close that with brushes. For example, if you made a doorway, you need to make a room out of brushes on the other side. (You can't make a doorway into the void or it's like cutting a hole in your submarine). If you pulled the brushes apart, make sure you didn't leave a little gap to the void. If you did, you can pull the brushes back to close it.

Do you understand better now?

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Oh! Thank you!

      Anyone have any luck with light.setShader( string ) ? It seems to make whichever light you apply it to full-bright on the initial invoke?

      I'm starting to think we need another mapping contest.

      Don't you hate it when there's a quality discussion on a forum somewhere online about something, but then two disagreeing users derail and transform it into a back-and-forth poo slinging competition at one another?

      After watching the first three and a half episodes of "The Sandman" last night, I realize once again that overly imaginative narratives are not for me. Also, the main actor looks like he has a toothache.
      Which makes me wonder, is there a Dark Mod mission with a medieval dentist?
