Cant find bloom option

I just switched to windows 7 from xp and upon reinstalling tdm i cant seem to find the bloom option anywhere, am i being blind or do i have to do something for it show up or what? I had it all working before on xp no problem.

Because of Performance problems on some systems Bloom isn´t in the menu on the actual TDM version. But it´s still inside:

 

Open the console and type in:

 

r_bloom 1

 

That´s it. If you type

 

r_bloom

 

and than press 'TAB' you can see what is there else related to bloom. I just found out myself that 'r_bloom_contrast_mult' affects the intensity of the bloomeffect. I always thought it is a little bit too much so I decreased this value...

I think it would be a good idea at this stage to have the option in the main menu to turn bloom on and off..

It was removed from the options menu as it was causing problems for a lot of users (search threads here and TTLG). It was however left functional as an unsupported console variable, because it does work fine for some.

to add some little information to this: if you DO want to use bloom by using this method, you can easily change the overall bloom-intensity (without fighting with several sub-settings) by just using different coefficients: "r_bloom X" seems not to be boolean (1 or 0), higher/lower values are possible. i tested lower bloom-intensity by "r_bloom 0.5", as well as higher bloom-intensity by "r_bloom 2".

 

Can't tell, where these values are limited, but this seems to be an easy way to balance bloom to a desired intensity (somebody may correct me, if i am totally wrong here)...
