Mansion Textures

Figured I'd go ahead and do a few since I came across some damn good Victorian wallpapers..

I need to get ahold of BT's textures so I can make sure they fit well together. The only problem I can see with these is that they're wallpapers, and will therefore look pretty damn dumb with a detailed normalmap. We'll probably have to rely on furniture and props in conjunction with these textures to keep the environs from looking too plain.

the doors look good, but they're not game-ready. imho the colours aren't strong enough and there are still quite a lot reflections on them. (especially the left door wouldn't look very good ingame because the bright reflections all over the wood will make it look washed out)

 

 

edit - it's bit hard to explain, so I did it myself in PS to show you what I mean:

just rise the contrast and saturation (not sure if that's the right name - it's the thing you get, when pressing ctrl+u in PS) of the picture

you see the difference? of course it needs better tweaking and you have to remove the reflections on the metal dots by hand - that was just 10 seconds work to show you what I ment. sometimes it's hard for me to explain things like that in english ;)

I've already tweaked the metal bits, I actually replaced em with the least reflective one on the texture so I could edit them a bit easier. I've also gone ahead and removed the shadows from the knockers as well, truth be told I'm thinking about getting rid of those altogether and using a model for them instead.

 

The wood door looks a helluva lot better.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
