New Might And Magic Coming Up

I just noticed that apparently a new Might & Magic is in the making. That is good news, if they don't screw it up like MM9. Bad news is that they will use the source engine from Valve 2 which means Steam. I guess this will be another anticipated game going down the drain for me then.

Source does not equal that it uses Steam, Case in Point Vampire: The Masquerade- Bloodlines.

 

(In fact i would be very very surprised if it used steam, as that hampers their market.)

I can only hope so, because if Steam is there again I sure wouldn't buy it. Well, at least you gave me hope.

I can probably garuntee that it won't use steam as that would mean Ubisoft (the publisher) would have to pay even more royalties to Valve.

Jesus Christ, I can just imagine the shit poor quality the 10th game in a series would be.

Imagine 'Thief 10'.

It's obviosuly just a cash pony franchise now.

Doesn't need to. Final Fantasy also has a lot of series and it seems to be good. If you cnsider Thief FMs, they can also be considered as extensions and there are very good ones.

not is not going to be mm 1x and its its not developed by those the originals came from..

There's a big difference between a lovingly crafted fan mission and a corporate producton line, who's only purpose is to squeeze even more money out of fans.

Franchises are never good, be it Rocky V, TombRaider VIII or Final Fantasy X.

Well, we will see how it turns out. I'm not really happy about the current RPGs either, so another M&M is at least some good news.
