Yeah it seems to happen all the time that people sign up and then realize they don't have time to do anything, or something changes and they suddenly have no time. Oh well.

 

I think we could probably do a little better at introducing people to the mod when they first start though. Sometimes we say "okay you're in, go read these hundreds of forum threads," and they don't know what to do, they don't ask what to do, we forget that they're looking for something to do, etc. Maybe each team could benefit from a little written introduction, like "This is the programming team, our main forum is the programming forum. If you're not sure what to start working on, start a thread there and we can work out tasks to do, etc."

Yeah, I'm always asking myself what we can do to introduce new people more painlessly. I also offered this to Toro some posts earlier in this thread - I'm always happy to help new coders and take them by the hand so to say.
