Microsoft Product Fails - Surprise!

Apparently thousands of 30 GB Zunes stopped working at around the same time. Hilarious! If Microsoft made cars, they would unexpectedly burst into flame.

EDIT: Update, apparently it was a problem caused by leap year , and the fix is: wait 24 hours, let the battery run down and it "should" work again.

 

Also,

I've read about this being referred to as a "Y2K like" happening, but what's sort of ironic is that this is probably a bigger and more dramatic failure than anything that happened at the actual Y2K!

I wasn't aware of this. I have a zune that I won in a contest when they first came out. I rarely use it any more since it likes to turn itself off randomly.

On the note of crappy portable devices, never EVER buy a Sansa. I hate them so much I've had 3 and each one has crapped out on me in one way or another.

 

First sansa: Just randomly shuts itself off

2nd sansa: Randomly doesn't work and shows a little box in the middle and wont work again until it runs out of battereies.

3rd sansa: Just doesn't work!

 

I have a 5 year old Samsung mp3 player with 512 mb on it. I lost it in my car for about a year and I recently found it, hooked it back onto my computer via the usb drive. It cannot detect it because it's so old it conflicts with one of the windows xp updates and isn't supported by Samsung anymore, but it still plays the original music on it which I'm fine with.

 

5 years and it still works, Samsung kicks Sansa's ass in terms of quality!
