Errors in GLProgramFactory.cpp while compiling...

Recommended Posts

41>..\..\radiant\render\backend\GLProgramFactory.cpp(115) : error C2228: left of '.get' must have class/struct/union

41> type is ''unknown-type''

41>..\..\radiant\render\backend\GLProgramFactory.cpp(115) : error C3861: 'GlobalRegistry': identifier not found

Shows in the build log:

41>DarkRadiant - 2 error(s), 3 warning(s)

========== Build: 41 succeeded, 1 failed, 1 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========

I did a 'Clean Solution' and the 'Build Solution', same issue. Also double checked to make sure w32deps was up-to-date and it is.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Sounds like it was related to the changes I made yesterday; strange that I didn't encounter any build errors though (unless it's a Windows-specific thing).

It's in fact a Win32-specific thing, the reference to the GlobalRegistry() accessor was not needed in the POSIX section, hence you couldn't notice.

I did notice there was no .get method defined in GlobalRegistry(), is this why it was failing?

No, the GlobalRegistry() method itself was not known at the point of call, as the corresponding header file "iregistry.h" was not included. The compiler then complains about the left side of .get() not being known, which is true. The second line of the compiler error messages gives you the hint.

The GlobalRegistry() method returns a reference to the application-wide Registry object, and this indeed defines the get() method to retrieve values.

I think you're the only non-developer who actually compiles DarkRadiant from source at all.

Strange, it's quite easy to set up and getting the latest bug fixes/features is awesome.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Well, you also get the latest bugs through SVN - many users wouldn't want to mess around with that, I suppose.

Still, it's good to have users testing the latest source without using snapshots. Angua is also compiling from source on a regular basis.

All fixed now :)

Am I the only one that updates his SVN repo everyday?

I do it as much as I can but never get around to compile DR :(

Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
