  1. I actually thought it was harder than that. What complicates my situation is that I don't use any of these softwares.
  2. I can make realistic animations. I bet there is a lot of animators willing to contribute with as well. But, like me, they're probably pushed away by technicalities like "you want to contribute animations? good! start by learning how to edit md5 with the notepad, the doom 3 sdk, speak esperanto backwards, etc.." (I'm kidding, but that is fundamentally the problem) Make a max file ready to animate and I bet that in no time you'll be able to choose the ones you like best.
  3. This is weird. This was probably an exception, because I climbed the same bed and they didn't noticed me. (the candles were out, btw)
  4. Amazing mission! Played in expert for two hours and appreciated every detail of it. I didn't ran into any bug, weird light or weird texture whatsoever. A few personal impressions on the mission:
  5. LOL Can we lock them in rooms?
  6. Ok, then.. correcting: A totally new unusual way of approaching the stealth gameplay.
  7. LOL How can one single feature like that cause so much trouble??
  8. I'm also interested in this question about importing the skeleton. I remember Oddity mentioned something about you guys using Motion Builder for animation, and if we just rename the usual 3ds max bones, everything should work. hmm..
  9. That is actually a really great idea!! A totally new way of approaching the stealth gameplay.
  10. Anyone has any ideas on how to sophisticate this?
  11. I'm posting here because I didn't want to interrupt all the serious discussions on the other forums I took a few shots of my evil trap:
  12. I wonder how long it takes so we can have more missions! I bet there's a lot of people starting to learn how to map. In a couple of months we might see the first ones
  13. LOL I should have saved a screen shot of my tower too..
  14. REALLY nice mission! I liked them all, but this one is my favorite. I played in expert and, even though it was complicated, it's possible to ghost through the entire mission! That's just good design.
  15. I'm not sure if you're talking to me or Sogi-ya. What I mean is if the metal floor is louder than the wooden floor, for example, shouldn't I know this only by hearing? I imagine they are, but it's too subtle or I'm a little deaf
  16. I feel very confortable with the controls in TDM! Most FPS feels like riding a bike instead of walking.. The only thing that bothers me a little is the footstep noise, all surfaces seems to produce the same noise (in terms of volume, I mean) and this lack of feedback from the sound makes me unsure of what floor is noisier.
  17. "A fast German mirror would certainly be welcome" A SPIEGEL! =D .. yeah, that was funny
  18. Can you give more examples? (I'm not doubting, btw) I really like Portal too! But I don't think this one counts because it came from the indie scene, wih Narbacular Drop. And even though I really enjoyed, it was way too easy.. they probably thought "our target audience is not that smart" And don't get me started on Half Life and it's "puzzles" The one time I played HL (don't know wich episode it was) I came across this problem: I had to connect the power to a device, but the cable was too short. There was this extension cord close by, so I connected using it. WOW I could be a rocket scientist! I just found out a game called Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising that has a very interesting change of pace from the usual fps. Apparently, if you play like John Rambo you will die. A lot.
  19. That independent games site is really interesting! I totally forgot how the independent scene tends to be more creative Btw, I didn't mean to say old games are better.. I meant to say that my standards are higher! If I met streets of Rage today, I would probably think it's crap!
  20. I've been thinking these days.. there used to be a lot of great games! I loved Streets of Rage, Sonic, Duke Nukem, etc. And suddenly no cool games are made anymore. This, of course, is ridiculous. What happened is that I've become VERY demanding! any of this new games would be super awesome if I was 15 Thief brought me back to the world of games, but it was it! Since then (more than a few years) I've played only a couple of games that were worth it, beyond that I could only entertain myself with casual games (Flash.) Where are the grown up games?! I know for a fact that there are hoards of 30 years old gamers out there. I don't wanna scare you guys (working on the dark mod) but I expect The Dark Mod to be my salvation!

    My CG portfolio

Thanks for the comments Glad you liked my work! . I'm confused. Are you being sarcastic about not being sarcastic?
  22. Hi people Here's my really lame portfolio I made it in two days! There are some stuff I made for the dark mod too! It's linked to the dark mod site, of course. I hope that's all right.
  23. Is it done?... Are we there yet?.. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? ... Sorry, I just watched Shrek
  24. I like the idea of more movements (well, I did start this topic) but I was thinking on the simple ones, like moving along an edge (he can grab it already.) For me, the line that separates what's plausible for thief and what is not is somewhere between wall rebound and wall running. Wall running is very silly.. wall rebound is also silly, but not as much and it could be fun to have additional tools for climbing (climbing IS a major gameplay aspect in thief)
  25. WOW Those screenshots are breath taking.. Stop teasing us already! BTW, those models I'm working on WILL be finished!
