  1. Metal is also our 200th user! Have a balloon.
  2. Looks great Fing. I agree that posting simple textures for the upper parts of the Cathedral would be an effective way of making it appear more complicated than it is.
  3. But all we need are legs, not entire 'body awareness' (such a silly term, sounds like he's going through puberty or something doesn't it? 'Oh, I'm becoming aware of my body! Those spots weren't there before!') It would also be to the master thief's advantage, because you could look down and see exactly where your feet are landing, and when. It will also look strange if the Thief has a shadow but doesn't have a body to go with it; the shadow will just emerge out of the floorboards.
  4. I'd like to be able to see the legs when I look down. Especially taut, manly legs.
  5. Thief looks a lot worse than I remember it. Anyhoo, here's the yellow/orange bricks that Baffords is made of. Sorry it's dark, gamma was right up.
  6. Since I can't post in the beta testing map forum for some reason, here goes. Is it Baffords that Demi is trying to recreate in his level? If so, it would probably be worth creating a texture for the Baffords 'yellow brick wall', which takes up most of the level.
  7. The compressed one is my favourite.
  8. Yeah we don't really need to swamp the player with choince. Springheel's design here looks great enough for all.
  9. Well two heads are better than one.
  10. I like it Springheel. Perhaps the lightgem could be lower down so it sticks with the healthmeter? Also, it might be worth making the red bot on the healthmeter thicker and the borders thinner.
  11. I also like the one Darkness Falls has come up with.
  12. Tht's the first mission Milestone Mansion (working title). That's probably the most 'done' mission writing wise. And could make my head explode. I already have to deal with Springheel and oDDity. But anyway, welcome to the team Fett.
  13. What amazingly original means of telling the player how much health he has would you prefer? That the healthbar is familiar to the player is a bonus. We don't want him to have trouble learning what everything on the HUD represents.
  14. I think we might be taking this 'minimalist' thing a bit too far. We don't have to squeeze everything onto a postage stamp.
  15. I don't have any problem with another writer, as long as he/she doesn't start tearing down what's been done already. The problem is that the basic structure of the plot is done (as in 'not going to change') and the mini-plots that structure each mission are done for levels 1-4. I'm also pretty much finished on level 6, just waiting until level 5 is done before posting anything up (for the sake of chronology). The readables and conversations for levels 1-4 are roughly done. This all means that, apart from level 5, Fett would have very little actual creative stuff to do. He can create readables and conversations, as long as they fit into what has already been done for the level, but little else. He can do anything he wants with mission 4, because I've barely started thinking about it, apart from the stuff that links to the rest of the campaign. What I'm afraid of is that throwing another writer into the mix would be much akin to throwing dynamite into a carefully constructed mine. We've finally gotten through the arguments and general hoo-hah that inevitably accompanies the forming of a story. We don't actually need another writer, since the campaign won't be out for ages and most of the difficult stuff has been worked out already. I have plenty of time to do the rest, especially as the summer approaches. However, there are advantages to bringing in another writer. It means he can write things with a different 'voice', so that all the readables and conversations won't be in the same style. It also means we can argue amongst ourselves without bothering the rest of the team for their opinions.
  16. Having studied both screenshots I prefer the circle health bar. It's small, tidy and stylish. (If we wanted an extremely minimalist HUD we could combine the health bar, light gem and compass.)
  17. I like the new healthbar, and also prefer the round one. I was going to suggest that the round circle shrink, then start 'beating' like a heart when it's very small to warn the player. But that gif looks great, too.
  18. Thank you. Your words of encouragement mean a lot to the team.
  19. Yup, they made it all happen. Shows real dedication on their part since we had a decent website already. Congrats, you two! And also everyone who contributed models, art, and the in game shots and stuff.
  20. Channel your congratulations in the direction of Springheel and Sub Effect.

I was being sarcastic. Personally I have light_bright on at all times in RL, so I never see any shadows at all. This command menu in the corner of my vision is really handy.
  22. Happy Birthday to You! I hope whatever's over that horizon turns out to be pleasant.

Yes because during the day shadows don't exist.
