want to map for TDM as is. Those few people who believe only in mapping for T1 or T2, they will probably get dragged onto that newer potential game if it happens. So really theres no loss to TDM.

First of all this is all very speculative as there is no concrete evidence that they will make a Thief style game let alone release an editor & even if they do it still all comes down to how people percieve it and if they want to make custom FMs for it. If people were going to jump ship for the reasons you listed then they would have gone to say Skyrim for example which has a much bigger audience and a more powerful editor. I think the people you're thinking of are those who don't...

Exactly, if say Otherside entertainment do indeed create a Thief game as their next project and they do indeed release an editor then we can have thief fan missions from T1/2/3/TDM & the new game. The fan base wins as a whole and I dont think it would detract from TDM if anything it would bring more attention to it. Remember TDM currently has 80+ FMs ready to go

I guess that remains to be seen because T3 was released and has an editor out there yet it's the least popular editor out of the whole Thief universe (I consider TDM apart of that btw). We will just have to see what the future holds I guess
