      one of my favorite reads :) buuut it also makes me a bit frightened at how robust these systems become, even though they are built far from robust. It's some kind of magic, for sure haha. Like you have ways of calculating things that are errorprone, but because they are, they don't show up in the game. they were simply avoided/worked around. Rock solid, but not really :D

    When I was a kid, you could leave batteries in something for six months and not find them completely dead. The opsession with making everything digital, including power buttons, has resulted in everything drawing phantom current, even when the thing is supposed to be off. Compare this to a mechanical flashlight, or old-school Gameboy, and you can understand what I mean.

      Yeah, aside from issues like botnets and unlawful surveillance and other gaping security holes. My mind wanders to issues with cheap stuff that's designed to be replaced in quick succession with newer products. Electronic waste from things that had no business having it, like toothbrushes and underwear! :D Some smart devices are just no-exception useless and fall under the category of a party gift or something. And inevitably gets tossed in the bin right quick. :P

      Analog mechanics rule. Digital stuff is ok. Always-on digital sttuff is crap. IOT smart devices is the devil and should burn in a pit of molten tungsten.

    Don't you hate it when you go to read a technical discussion, but the comments are full of sheeple saying "My OS of choice is WAY more secure than yours!!11one". If I had the ability, I would BAN all of these people...

      Firefox has that plugin called "comment snob", it can be used to filter out spelling and grammar errors so the tech exists- someone just needs to apply it. ;)

      I don't think there's a formal ban from having genitalia depicted in TDM, but... It's a matter of demographic age I think. Is it easy to slap a mature content warning on TDM because of the possibility that a few missions have visible genitalia. Per mission basis maybe?

      Now if I was to give the impression of someone "takin' a leak" I'd actually just make some noise from the "water" hitting. I'd not use particles at all. Here's why: particles don't respond to light. Florescent pee, anybody? ^^

      MacD11 sure, man. My point is still: there are people who ignore it when they get bashed online, then there are people who bite back... He's the latter type. Like it or not he's at least not afraid to say what he's thinking. Bluntly, apparently. xD People have ruthlessly attacked him for this very reason too, which I just find absurd because combine a person with a short temper with a bunch of "internetizens". It's gonna get heated quickly. :)
