How long should the update take? Been going for several hours now...A lot of goodies yes, but so long time?

When you finish every started project and paint all your unfinished models you will die ;)

I'm always here, my finnish friend :) Not that active in the forum, that's all...trying out modular building techniques :)

The most annoying thing is that my sessions are so far apart that I basically have to relearn the most basic stuff... :/ But nice to see a new DR :)

  8. Ph.D. defense coming up tomorrow. Getting more nervous every minute... ;-)

  9. Mapping while listening to Sothas soothing voice with his lovely finnish accent, explaining how awesome modular building techniques are :)

Not gonna happen with mapping, but I might stream some TDM missions and use a phat swedish accent, littered with finnish curse words though! ;)

Almost tempted to create something with my swedish accent :D

  11. Congrats on the release! Thanks to the team, once again, for their great efforts! Now, where do I get a babysitter so I can try this beast out without interruptions...?

Buy the kid some lego and teach him your modular building technique!

  12. Been away for some time again and thought some mapping would be nice; Question from a modelling noob: Is it possible/an easy/quick task to select a bunch of models/func_statics in DR, export them to an external modelling software like Blender and then save it as one model and put it back to DR? This of course to save entities.

    1. DeTeEff

      DeTeEff

Okay, but is it an easy task to (in Blender) to import the same model, say several bottles and then arrange them to look like a bunch of bottles, on the same z-plane and then save it as a unique model? Instead of using up several entities in DR...

I don't understand this: "making the area squashed polygonal"

And "angled z-axis ground" Do you mean different heights of the ground?

I must disagree on you there, Sotha. I love sprawling city sections with intricate ways to enter buildings and move above the dangerous streets below. But as you say, they are time consuming and one of the most difficult things to create. Shall look into modularity.

ERH, that is what I have started doing. Not An Ordinary Guest is plagued with lots of empty halls and coridors without purpose. Now I will try to cram in detail and decour to make every place interesting. But the progress is creepycrawling. 5-6 hours to hollow out a house and create some basic wall decour...

Yes I know that thread. But it's when I try to create something unique and my own that I fail miserably...It's hard to get it more organic and not just a bunch of geometric blocks

Aha! A teaser! :) Or maybe you mean I'm so obsessed with mapping that I will push on until it gets good :)

What do you mean Springheel? A new update that plugs me into the matrix along with you masters of building?

  20. Graphics card crashed so I bought a new one...GeForce GTX 980 TI 6gb...Have tried to make TDM to lag by packing lights...it won't lag :)

    1. DeTeEff

      DeTeEff

I haven't tried any real maps. Just stacked some thirty lights and fire particles in one room. Have ramped up as much res my monitor can handle and full antialiasing and technical mumbo jumbo and not a single framdrop below 55-60. But further testing will occur :)

  21. I didn't know one could fix the problem with "leaking" arches when you thicken a curved patch...Then I read about "non fixed" subdivisions in the patch inspector...That saves a lot of headache

    1. DeTeEff

      DeTeEff

No, I just cursed silently and tried to adjust my arch to get a non leaking one

Still poking around in the editor and building aimlessly at a city mission with more emphasis on details. Much inspiration in Vermintide :)
