  1. Whoo, that´s a way too dark, at least at my screen. How did you get my shot, anyway? I wasn´t able to download the images so I had to make a screenshot of my originally own screenshot. I adjusted the gamma about 0.20 to get a version that´s bright enough to see the guard. I would appreciate a much more less bluish tone on outside night-sights, though. Yeah, there is not much wrong (on the first image), but the white textures could be 10 or 20% more dark. I know nothing about shaders yet, but I´ll look into it, always learning here...

  3. I just played Sons of Baltona and it never bothered so much until now that very often some textures seem to be too much bright and others may too much dark in shadows with no light sources. I´ve added a screenshot there you can see that the top and bottom are how they should be, I guess, but the walls and the beds/objects much too bright. I played around with 'r_lightscale' but this affects only the dark places. Is this still under development or will it be like this forever? Or is it somehow texture-related? edit: the shot appears to be darker as in real on my screen.
  4. When I look at my DarkMod-folder at the bottom, Windows count there 1,68 GB. If i select all (Edit->Select All) and then look at Properties it counts 1,89 GB. Did you do this? As I run the updater the first time I waited surely 5 hours minimum! Did the updater say at the end 'Enjoy DarkMod, Press ENTER to exit'? And did you say what Operating System you use? Can´t see it...
  5. It´s still working!! I play with this right from the beginning, cause I changed this in Doom 3 too. Guards running me out was the only thing that that bothered me.
  6. Yeah, just bought it. It´s cool than you can even add ForceFeedback-effects to things like Jump/Mantle and Attack. Really powerful. Though, DarkMod and the Thief´s are the only PC-games I use right now it seems to be worth the buy...
  7. I´m right now testing Pinnacle again, or I should say fighting. Is it possible to make combinations on my Pad to emulate a completely different key? for example: Button 5 I want to be the combo key. So, button 6 is for 'next weapon'. I want 'prev weapon' when I press button 5+6. Is that possible? ATM I´m experimenting with press/hold button commands. This is good for my two crouch-heights but I don´t know what to do with the weapon keys. I know the program has a help-file, but as I search for 'shifted' it shows me nothing useful. edit: I found it, this new Quad Shift -thing seems to be the key...

  10. Walking was simply too fast for my taste. The only thing that could brake/mess is the running speed, isn´t it? And yes, crouching/creeping is affected too, that was too fast either for my taste. But again, what should it mess with? (except running speed) The footfall sound still matches.
  11. Pinnacle scared me away, cause it wants payment. I know, it´s very good and have the walk/run-feature for the analog-sticks. Actually I´m using JoyToKey, that is very simple. I tried much some time ago and really Pinnacle was the best, maybe I look into it again, don´t remember the prize...
  12. I just tried Sons of Baltona Part 1 and as the guards saw me I instantly run away, but as getting to the starting area they catched and killed me while running. This is because: I changed 'pm_walkspeed' to '60' (default=70). But this breaks the runspeed too, because TDM uses a modifier. Default is '2.12'. I raised it to '2.3' but I´m just guessing. I´m sure someone (Mortem?) knows a way or a value that helps me to regain the original running speed. Maybe a value that I have to multiply with the default´s to always get the right running speed? I never tried to outrun guards before, but the player should be able to, right? Guards carry a lot more weight and otherwise it would be too much trail&error.

  14. Bist Du im Urlaub? Bin jetzt fertig und es hat sich nix geändert, gute Arbeit. Aber ein, zwei Fehler fand ich jetzt doch noch: (Tagebuch des Hausherrn) einmal ein 'sind' zuviel und 'Schneiderinnen' hätte ich erst nach dem 'r' getrennt. Mit der Bezeichnung 'Baumeister' bin ich nicht zufrieden. 'Erbauer' hört sich besser an, meiner Meinung nach. Wie ist jetzt überhaupt die Resonanz? Kannst Du rauskriegen wie oft die deutsche Version überhaupt runtergeladen wurde? Wollen die Leute deutsche Versionen? Ich würde auch beim Übersetzen helfen...

Due to my GamePad-use this is really a problem (I´m not playing from a desk, and my keyboard is at the moment on my legs, but while playing this is really uncomfortable so I place it in a vertical line left of me and in almost complete darkness it was really hard for me to find the water arrow last night...) for me so I´ll at least try... //downloading Sourcecode //looking into it Ähem, I guess I should copy the content of the .patch-file into DarkMod/Inventory/Category.cpp? I haven´t done anything yet. And if so, what then? For now I´ve created a folder for the content of the code in the DarkMod-folder. I know, this won´t do anything. Are you willing to help me out, Mortem? All I know about C++ is that it is all text (not 0´s and 1´s) and with // you can add comments. If it is a long way so I´ll be patient but if it will be a few steps I would really like to (let you do me) do it. edit: I just looked into a tutorial for C++ and it is really not my world. They say it is really easy, but I don´t even know C. So if this will cost me more than one day than I´ll step back to be patient. I could try to play without the use of weapons...
  16. Heute Nacht hab´ich weitergemacht und ich muss sagen dass die ingame-Texte alle super waren! Nur 'Gatte' gefiel mir nicht, da hätte ich lieber 'Gemahl' gesehen. Aber sonst ist mir nicht eine Sache negativ aufgefallen, gute Arbeit! :thumbup: Der Text der trinkfreudigen Wache gefiel mir besonders. Allerdings habe ich nicht zu Ende gespielt, als ich ins Zimmer des Hausherrn kam war ich so müde, dass ich mich quasi in sein Bett gelegt habe. Aber so weit ich mich erinnere kommt nicht mehr viel zu lesen. Aber trotzdem: Fortsetzung folgt...
  17. So, is there a way one/me could patch this him-/myself with this ominous .patch-file on the Bugtracker-page there or do I have to wait for the update?
  18. @ Premier: most of the things you pointed at were found during the Betatesting but couldn´t be solved. But I´m sure that there will be a future version with even maybe improvements in performance, but this will only make sense on future DarkMod versions, I guess. As for the loot in the yard, I don´t remember anything there. Note to myself: I can´t believe that I still haven´t played this gem since the Beta. It was so much fun and for sure the best I played so far. The forest in mission 3 was so beautiful...
  19. I completely agree with you. But sadly I suffer from the 'love to push the quickload-button'-disease. But I´ll try to see it more as a game and not as an alternate Life where failure is not an option on future attempts. I know there is put a lot of work into AI´s but as I experienced guards loosing sounds after seeing me, this spoiled a much of immersion for me, sadly... And it seems no one knows what causes this.
  20. I played this mission a couple of weeks ago and just wanted to tell that I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very good. I remember too the blocking AI´s by the double-door in the middle of the first floor, if I remember right. And they didn´t unstuck as I came back 20 minutes or so later. But I really liked it and will play it again soon to train my stealth skills. As I read the first posts I was wondering how one can get a stealth score of 8 by killing everyone? (I always get zero) At least on dying the AI should know that there is someone.

  22. I experienced a slowdown by the lockpicking room in the Training Mission as I run it at full (16Q)-AA on my Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT. (I like the name of my card ) But now I reduced the AA to 4 and I have 60fps, so no slowdown anymore. As I remember I didn´t had slowdowns in the forest. (I did not play it since betatesting it though) And I have to say that the AA isn´t worse on 4 than on 16.
  23. First this Folk-music-stuff, now this. Glad you´re still allowed to read and even post in here! And I´m really looking forward for the mission to come out. Because of Komag´s comment you know that there is nothing else now but to complete and release this gem, don´t you?
