  1. Damn, I´m so lucky. I just finished watching Komags Tutorial videos and you just put it online. Some odd thing on Firefox: As I started the download 'normal', there I had only 50 kb/s. But now as I´m using the add-on DownloadHelpers/DownThemAll I have about 270 kb/s! This is some kind of a difference. But anyway, still too slow... On the other hand, 36% done, 5 minutes left. I gotta go to the bathroom first...
  2. Yeah, right! I had very much fun watching this Videos while waiting for NHAT-campaign release. This videos are very helpful, indeed, because there went everything wrong what could´ve been, almost. Beginning with Autoplay. But this must be some slow machine, and this keybord, my goodness. But I was very glad to see tutorials for DarkRadiant, I will surely follow them. Thanks a lot Komag!

  6. I experienced some annoying loudness-issues in the past FMs that I commented too in their threads. But now I found out it has to do with the Audio-sliders in the Menu of DarkMod. It seems that music and some sounds are played on full volume and it doesn´t matter what setting the SFX-slider has. For example: I had SFX and Ambient on 50% and this was the reason I had so often too loud music and too loud voices (as they appear in the new No Honor Among Thieves-campaign). So I suggest to every player to adjust all the Audio-sliders to 100%! On most missions it doesn´t matter how you set the sliders, anyway. In some missions, the music is adjustable by the Ambient-slider, but most of the time music is played at 100%. So if you have the slider on 100% in the first place you will most likely experience no differences in the several missions you play. This whole slider-issue will most likely solved in the next TDM-updates. But I guess it will effect then only newer missions...
  7. Here in Germany it´s still one hour to go until Friday. Damn, I wanna play this. I have the old beta-files in my trash and won´t delete them, just in case...
  8. Ah, very good. This way I only have to delete the file once. Though one has to make sure to first install new missions. And I made myself a folder in the DarkMod/fms folder like '0_non-active FMs' where I place missions I don´t want to appear on the ingame Missions-list. I guess other players would appreciate this. (You only need to move the Mapname-folders in the 'fms'-folder. The ones in Doom3\ can be left alone) It would be cool if DarkMod would do this itself, like a managing FM-system. And for the duplicate-thing I suggest some sort of developer-mode for the DarkMod in which the missions are left in the fms-folder, but in normal Player-mode they get deleted. But this would be something for the future, not important now because this can easily done by the players themselves, if they know what to do.
  9. I don´t understand why DarkMod is copying the missions in the Doom3-folder and not instead moving them! And if a mission got uninstalled the mission is still in the Doom3-folder! As the number of FM´s grow, so does the size on my Harddisk in double! Example: As I was now betatesting GC´s new Campaign I got all together 800 MB for the three missions. The missions itself in the DarkMod-folder count 200 MB! This all is copied to the Doom3-folder and then 2 Savegames (a 86 MB or so) added. So all in all I had 800 MB for three missions! But I can delete the missions in the Doom3-folder myself without causing trouble, right? I mean I want to save the save-games, but that is not necessary. What about DarkMod doing this itself? I just wanted you guys to know but I´m sure you´re already aware of this HardDisk-eating method.
  10. While I´m still waiting for my TTLG Forum access so I´m asking this here: I tried the new Thief2skies-patch and looked at the Thief2-mission 'Life of the Party'. You know, the big rooftops-mission where you get to the Mecha-tower. Angelwatch, I always liked that name a lot. Ok, it seems there was in the original mission a fog-bug, means fog disappearing from the starting point. I saw some pop-up effects in the distance while walking away. But there is a fix (an old one) and one can fix this in the ddfix.ini (required for Thief2skies). So I tried both methods but it seems so wrong ´cause the fog/sky is so bright. I´ll add a screenshot that you see what I mean. Later in the level, as I deactivated the fog-fix it looked better, but the sky was still so bright. And with the fix there is fog even inside the buildings because the fix makes the fog to be everywhere. What I wanted to ask: I think in the original it was no bug. I think they wanted to start the mission early in the evening, and when you get on it get´s darker! But for the sky it´s not working, it is always so damn bright. Only if I deactivate the fog it looks right, look at the third screenshot. And this bright fog, is it meant to simulate industrial smog? What do you think?

  12. Maybe demagogue has put some kind of strange invisible monster in this mission? Who knows... But there wasn´t blood spilling out of the guard, or was it? Really strange thing.
  13. I was thinking about it and I came to think about SystemShock. There was a really cool thing called "System Shock rebooted" in the making with the Doom3-engine but was shut/shot down due to legal issues. Very sad. I could only found one mod in the making and that is a remake of System Shock 1 for System Shock 2. This way there will be no legal issues and the screenshots looked very good but this is now really off-topic. I just wanted to say that I would like a SystemShock-mod more than DeusEx, but then again, something of both...

  15. Not torso, just legs? I played the mission too on TDM1.01 and all was fine but the loud ambiance. I suggest just restarting the mission and hope this never happens again!
  16. If you let the file active and the program running while you´re online it is always uploading. How much the upload speed will be is up to you. On torrents you have sometimes very fast and very slow connections. Depends on the speed of the other uploaders. Maybe at evenings the speed is better. How many Seeders and Peers do you have to choose from? (The program chooses the best itself) But you should try the updater as well in the future. Has to work. As I used the update it was very slow though.
  17. Look here for a Torrent-programm: www.utorrent.com This software will open the file you have downloaded and will connect to people who are online and download from them. Just like in the good old Napster-days.
  18. I wanted once to play first Doom3 before, too. But until yet it never happened. DarkMod is so damn good, it won´t let me go. But I don´t want to either.

    Yes, Dark Metal. I heard first of it when I installed 'GarrettLoader', the newer replacement for the Darkloader FM-installer. This thing even supports the DarkMod itself. And it tells me about Dark Metal to be a heavy Mod for Thief 2, but nothing more. As I googled it, there was only a thread on TTLG (dated in 2005) that leads me to the (great) Enhancement Pack by NamelessVoice. In google I saw the description for it: a DromEd-mod that enables Thief 1 FMs to be played in Thief 2 or something. Can´t find it anymore, but there wasn´t something useful behind the google-link. So I wondered if someone here does know more about it? As I played a couple of weeks ago after a long time Thief 2 with all the great fan-made updates that are around I often thought that it would be so cool to play the whole Thief 1 in Thief 2! The looks and lighting would be so improved! And this new Skypatch for Thief 2. And what I 'heard' about 'Dark Metal' seems to be exactly what I dreamed about. But I can´t find it. But if the GarrettLoader supports it, so I assume it is out there and ready? BTW: I´m still waiting for my Activation at TTLG-forums. It´s two months now or even three. Don´t know whats wrong. I tried two times before one year ago. Nothing happened too. But last year I saw Activation-mails, but they arrived half a year later as I don´t used my old Email-account and then I tried them they were outdated. Why does it take so long? Someone here who knows?
