  1. Would Eidos be willing to allow that? They otherwise would just be sitting on old IPs for good games without doing jack shit for them, like the Gex IP or Akuji the Heartless.
  2. Maybe after they do System Shock as a series, they could remake the original Thief trilogy. Would be great to introduce REAL Thief to a new generation, and not the pale imitation of Thief 4, even if it was OK as a standalone game it was not up to the "Thief" reputation.
  3. What sort of diseases and parasites exist within the world of The Dark Mod? Is there an equivalent if the Black Death? Can zombies spread through bites? Are there any magic-originating plagues concocted by vengeful pagans or sorcerers?
  4. Yes, but vaporware should be fair game. The original two games in the Thief series was built with Fan-mission creation in mind. So, The engine to further create with it should also continue to be open-source.
  5. If a law is BS, it's a duty to ignore it, like the Iranians are doing against the Hijab law their terrorist dictator is trying to force on them.
  6. Someone actually updated They Hunger into They Hunger: Relit! It adds more weapons and an Infection System where you get harder to kill the lower your health is.
  7. I liked the first SMB movie as an alternative take on the series as a "cyberpunk fantasy" version.
  8. I've been binging this show tonight, I'm really digging it. Apparently it's based off the works of horror manga artist and writer Junji Ito, known as the "H.P. Lovecraft of the East"?
  9. What is the Asia analogue in The Dark Mod like? I could imagine that with minor tweaking, a Ninja stealth mission would be possible, with local legendary creatures reskinned from existing zombies as Gaki AKA Filth-Lickers.
  10. Eh, what? I don't think this has anything to do with that. I'm just doing a thought experiment of which video game world maps you would like to turn into "digital houses" to inhabit if you were crippled and relied on Virtual Reality to simulate going to different places. Like those V.R. Trick or Treating simulators they do for kids in the hospital.
  11. I actually can understand the plot a lot better now, and I gotta say, it's even more beautiful now. It actually made me want to try and be a better person, made me self-reflective, although that could have also been me recounting the 20 out of 28 years of my life since I first saw it, and realizing I need to sort my life out. I already had decided to do Spring cleaning, but now I'm also exercising, trying to set up more outings with family members, and my lethargy & general feeling of sickness has faded away.
  12. System Shock as a series was basically the Science-Fiction sister-series to Thief's Fantasy. Both were the flagship products of the Darkradiant engine, and I'm hoping the success of the System Shock remake has the creators try to get permission to remake Thief 1 through 3.
  13. Anyone else a bit excited for it? I'm pretty happy. The trailers make it look pretty good.
  14. It sounds like a pretty cool idea to me.
  15. It's been 4 months. They still haven't given up. I still wish them the best, and hope the rest of the free nations of the world will continue to support the people of Iran and sanction the brutes in the IRGC.
  16. Wait a minute, breaking news, apparently the indie devs just proved they didn't steal assets and the big company is eating crow!
  17. The goddamn Triple E companies economically rape an up-and-coming competitor out from under themselves once again.
  18. Any news on the release date?
  19. Well, with all the crazy crap going on in the world, I figured I should read it, just in case anything happened and I either died or electricity went out for the foreseeable future where I live. Unlikely, but with the wars and tensions these days...
  20. Sorry. Since it was based on a Dark Mod campaign, I thought it would go in the main section.
  21. A year or so ago, after having set my mind in acquiring a Kindle to be able to read it, I set out to finish Shadowcursed, a book based in a campaign here in The Dark Mod by Gelo Fleisher. I read through it over the course of a year or so. Sadly, due to my eyes not being what they used to be and extended reading now causing me headaches, I wasn't able to binge on it like I used to do with books in my youth. Instead, I read it off and on over the course of the time since I got it around the midpoint of the Covid 19 pandemic. Having finally finished it, I can saw it was a truly beautiful story taking inspiration from the original Thief trilogy by Looking Glass Studios! I'm glad I purchased it, and also glad that I finally brought myself to finish it despite the migraine behind my eye as I type this from extended hyperfocus of my vision even with my glasses. It had a thrilling, gripping story and a beautiful ending, and I'm glad I have experienced it now.

I heard there was an update regarding an Inn and a Werewolf?
  23. It looks like the people aren't giving up, even in the face of the regime's usual thuggery.
