  1. When rotating func_statics the origin can sometimes get moved into the void. The func_static itself may very well be within sealed geometry but if the origin is not it will cause a leak.
  2. I agree when it comes to organic instruments such as the guitar. As a fan of 80s synth pop and industrial dance music I really don't mind if the parts are copy and pasted. Specifically dance music which doesn't follow the conventional verse/chorus/verse/chorus/middle/chorus pattern that is typical of popular songs and dance music is very repetitive, multi layered and uses samples. Also a lot of the music is not played organically and created using software so replaying parts is going to sound the same anyway. The songs are made up of typical chords and scales. They should in theory translate to any instrument. Me personally I cannot play them on another instrument. I believe a lute and hurdy-gurdy have smaller necks also less strings so my knowledge of chord and scale shapes on the guitar will be completely different and obsolete. You would think that experience in playing one stringed instrument would aid in the playing of another. Unfortunately that's not the case. I really want to learn how to play violin next but again, guitar technique, chord and scale shapes from guitar are completely obsolete when learning violin.
  3. I'm exactly the same with art. I can't paint or draw to save my life. That's probably while I enjoy making stuff in DR. I'm OK with hand to eye co-ordination when it comes to music but with painting and drawing it just doesn't seem to work. With DR though it's just implementing ones vision by clicking on points of a grid. One's hand to eye co-ordination doesn't seem to be a huge issue as long as you understand the basics of the level editor you are working with and are able to use it to create your artistic vision.
  4. Here's an old one from when I used to be in a heavy metal band called Deviation years ago. Unfortunately because of all the distortion we used I don't think a lot of the recordings sound very good now. Here's one with no distortion that me and Joe (the singer) wrote and recorded in one go. I like doing things in one take. Sometimes there's a few mistakes but I think you can keep re-recording things to the point that while it's flawless it can also be flat and soulless. Plus the passion to record something new for the first time will always be unparalleled. https://soundcloud.com/user830368557/lines
  5. Thanks! I believe I was inspired to write the chords after listening to the great Johnny Cash. The lead work was improvised in one go but it's just basic stuff in the A Minor Pentatonic scale. It's very easy to do even when pissed.
  6. A basic county song that I've been playing around with for a while. I visited my Mate Dan in Bury St. Edmunds who built a recording studio in his backyard. We recorded the chords and then I did guitar lead over it. It was all done in one take. Maybe it could have been done better but it was done at 2am where we were both very pissed so it sounded good at the time and was left at that. https://soundcloud.com/user830368557/st-edmund-instrumental
  7. One of the parts of Oralaphalese's missing symphony that you can find at the Lytaglion opera house. https://soundcloud.com/user830368557/oralaphalese4
  8. I've got my new passport. I'm up for it if Biker and Steve are.
  9. Can you not replay the game as Corvo or Emily and achieve the same effect? one of the things I loved about Dishonored 1 was the ability to traverse the levels in multiple ways and complete objectives with multiple options. Thus making additional playthroughs somewhat enticing. I',m pleasantly surprised that Dishonored made PC Gamers top ten list of best PC games ever out of 100. Mostly because people that I know play computer games have never heard of Dishonored therefore I assumed it didn't reach commercial success.I think they were number six (Thief one and two were somewhere in the top 100 but I forget where)and they did a good job of justifying why each game earned their position. The main plus points for Dishonored were it's replay values. It can be replayed using different game play styles or by traversing levels via different navigation routes. I believe some of the guys that cut their teeth on game design doing Thief Fms (Digital Nightfall is one that springs to mind but I forget the name of the other) hence tho open world exploration of the original Thief games was carried over. Hopefully doing such a successful game like Dishonored ( loved it) they can build on what made it great and produce something even more fantastic.
  10. I know very basic German from my last visit. I think if you visit a country with a different language it's polite to learn how to say things like please, thank you, good morning, good night and most importantly how to order a pint of beer Ein bier bitte! Plus I get to eat currywurst again. Bloody Yum!
  11. Doing a quick google search for "how long does it take to apply for a new passport in the UK" says 3 weeks. I don't want to commit to anything until I actually have my passport. Saying that at the same time I don't expect anyone to put their plans on hold for me. So if you guys want to go ahead and organise something before I get my passport I won't be upset.
  12. It looks good to me. I've got the passport photo and application form sent away. Hopefully this sort of thing doesn't take too long.
  13. I had a go at writing the soundtrack for the current WIP (the opera house FM) I'm working on with Biker. It didn't turn out quite as ambient as I had hoped but I'm still pleased with the results. So I thought I could turn this into a side quest. In addition to stealing the Lute of Oralaphalese there is the option of finding all pieces of Oralaphalese's missing syphony. Every time the player finds a piece some classical guitar music that I composed will get played for a minute.

Yep, that sounds great! You play and get to hear original music.

Ah, it is normal for the author be supercritical about their own work. I'll wait to hear the pieces (and play the mission of course) with great eagerness.

SirTaff is actually quite good on the guitar :-)

  14. I'm definately up for this. I can't do the weekends of 11-13 of September and 18-20 of September. I've also only just noticed that my passport is out of date. I'll be applying for a new one ASAP.
  15. I don't remember there being a description for the creepy doll. I'm not sure if a description can do it justice TBH. One only needs to look at it to see that it truly is the stuff of nightmares.
  16. Epic stuff! The Dromed house did not disappoint! Why the f*** is there a window intersecting the roof?!?!
  17. There's going to be a few scripted events down in the dark eerie depths of the opera house basement. I won't say too much. I'm also working on my own personal soundtrack for this FM. As the main objective is to steal a lute, me and my mate Graham have written 7 songs in the style of classical / folk guitar music. I intend to have 12 by the time of the FM release. Graham has recording facilities at his place so once we get the music all sorted out I'll post one or two tracks in the WAYWON thread.
  18. The Lytaglion Opera house is currently doing a play based around the tragedy of Oralaphalese. What is said to be Oralaphalese's Lute is on display in a heavily guarded display case in the foyer. My informant tells me that the case has been heavily modified so that conventional lock picks cannot open the case. The only way to to open it is to access the security system in the basement. Unfortunately the actors and actresses of the play are causing a bit of a fuss. Legend has it that Oralaphalese, intent on bringing himself and his beloved Louralise back to this world, wonders between this world and that of the Trixters. Unfortunately without the Lute to re-open the gateway between worlds, Oralaphalese is nothing more than a shadow that wonders around the basement of the Lytaglion opera house. The actors and actresses of the play refuse to go into the basement stating that a dark shadow always stalks them and that objects move of their own accord. It has even got to the point were it is considrered bad luck to say "Oralaphalese" and it is now referred to as the Lytaglion play. Sorry Oralaphalese. It's time for the fat lady to sing!
  19. Some creepy pictures from a recent visit to the Crypt Gallery in London:
  20. I went to Wave Gotik Treffin in Leipzig a few years ago and had an awesome time. The architecture was awesome and the locals a joy to talk to. I would love to go to Germany again.
  21. Assuming that I have the money (my current job terminates at the end of the year) then I will be up for this. I'm not too bothered where in Europe it takes place but I would prefer if it had some beautiful scenery and lots of old buildings to take pictures of.
  22. Some of the latest screens from The Lute of Oralaphalese that Bikerdude and myself have been working on.
