  1. If that's the way he worded it, maybe he's just not good at interviewing. Frankly he doesn't need to be; producers need to be good at creative direction and planning out the games development. Not saying that Harvey is neccesarily good at those either
  2. If your finding it hard to cut the material down to a manageable amount of time, why bother going the route of a typical movie? There's enough complex and thoughtful material in Deus Ex to makeup a miniseries worth, not just your standard 2-3 hour movie. I don't see it being cut less than 4 hours without feeling a rushed pace or not missing significant parts; I'd go the episode route IMO.
  3. Its pretty good, though I could not understand most of what the narrator at the beginning said. I’d also suggest a version without subtitles. The dissolves are an excellent touch Some of the actions make little sense. If this is a movie style breakdown of Deus Ex, why pick up the crowbar and smash crates? But I digress. Those are things that can be refined upon the next cut; this is a good early start. Maybe by the time your final cut is ready the High-def pack will be completed.
  4. Even though I suck balls at RTS, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the ultimate scifi experience in the genre, and welcome this game with open arms and Korean greetings. I'm still torn between Protoss or Zerg being my fav factions This has certainly been a week of profound E3 sequel announcements: Deus Ex 3, System Shock 3, American McGee's Grimm, Condemned 2, Chronicles of Riddick expansion, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. expansion, GRAW 2, Starcraft 2, etc etc........
  5. Dude, Damage control?? It's a school play.
  6. I stumbled across this article just now, and remembered this thread: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/070508/...charge_study_dc There's probably too many powerful parties with bottom lines to look after. How else can a country with one the world's most advanced medical systems have a large contingent of its populous unable to afford medicine. Drug companies are one the greediest, most powerful special interest groups in America.
  7. Hmm, a Chinese kid living in Texas. Not surprising in the least. What's more surprising is the commentary from those who condone this blatant overreaction.
  8. Agreed. All you see from the movies being pumped out these days is murder & mayhem on small personal or large global scales. The alternatives are unfunny Hollywood comedies, or a rare import of something interesting.
  9. Check and check in the circumstance I mentioned. Though not as overdone as the example in the movie, which is still just a movie, she was penciled in for future missions to the ISS, and she said in her defense thought she was doing something "good". Plus there was a recent shooting in NASA, and they then mentioned a need to increase their screening duties. So the chances may be slimmer, but as RL has shown, some lunatics can get by it and into important positions.
  10. Screening doesn't work all the time in the situation you've mentioned. Did you not hear about the NASA astronaut that drove halfway across the United States wearing a diaper, planning to kill a romantic rival?
  11. America may claim to be a first-world nation, all grown up and socially enlightened, but there are large elements of third-world behavior all over the country. The current administration hasn't exactly helped the US progress forward in important areas.
  12. Yeah, the infection of "Rage" occurred within a minute, both for the girl's father at the army blockade, and for the activists who were bit by the infected monkeys at the beginning of the movie. Poetic license if you ask me.
  13. No, I meant the act itself, not with the same partner. A lot of people tend to 'change things up' or commit adultery to get around that, but could you become permanently bored with the act itself, no matter whom/how/where/why?
  14. Question is, can you become desensitized to the sexual act as well?
  15. 1. Videogames 2. Travel 3. Horse riding (western saddle) 4. Billiards 5. Naked wife
  16. How easy is it to implement music cues when entering a new location, such as entering a mansion from the outside? ("Inside at last" from Bafford's)
  17. It's your Sprint+Use keys together
  18. All of Oddity's suggestions sound very similar to the health system of Call of Cthulhu: DCotE, where bleeding to death was a possibility, and it was shown via a decrease in the color on the screen, heavier breathing and an increased hear-rate
  19. Also the letter "Y" in this case does not represent a vowel, for example: - An USS vessel - A USS vessel - An Yankee - A Yankee
  20. It could become a big problem, as it is another element that can be a catch for addictive personalities. The difference with video games is more a matter of time than money, as it takes away from other activities and necessities, especially for anyone who is responsible for a family or full-time job. Everything should be done in moderation. There's no problem with having an all-night LAN party or burning through an exciting new title once in a while, but unfortunately the glitzy lure of interactivity and anonymous socializing tend to make weaker people prioritize gaming higher than it should ever be.
  21. Are you referring to Sandor Clegane? One of the many characters who have depth and their role not transparent from introduction.
  22. Neither did ghermann/zeitgeist
