There is a little issue I keep running into every now and then:
Is this something that is related to this new window management, or was this already present with the regular 2.09(a) ?

Only use icons for the tabs, at all times
Is it maybe possible to disable the labels as a setting in DR or from a config file?

I would like it if in the Propperties window, when resizing that window, the name of the tabs get removed so you only see the icons, this way when resizing you'll always have the total amount of tabs in view. At the moment when you resize you see arrows to scroll through the tab view, becouse the tabs themself don't resize.

Pressing the Ctrl-key when moving something, lets it be moved outside the grid, for precise movement without changing the grid-size first (you have to already pressed the left mouse button to start the movement, after which you press the Ctrl-key).

Hey, just wondering, is the TDM Startpack still relevant today?

DarkRadiant Video Tutorials wiki page
I made some changes to the DarkRadiant Video Tutorials wiki page. I added missing descriptions to some of the video's and more video sources.
https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=DarkRadiant_Video_Tutorials
Just wondering if people might disagree with some of the changes, especially the added video's from different makers. Or people have suggestions. If not, then good.
Edit: I removed the link to Bikerdudes video's again because in them he talks of reusing parts of maps from other missions (in this case I think mission A new Job). I didn't check out all of his video's in that playlist, so I didn't spot it before. The reason I removed them is that I don't want people to show the wrong example of building. Also, I think that the video's (although very informative), aren't great purely as instruction.
Edit 2: Added dates of video submissions.

Any other ideas on where to download it?
Another place to look is the Missions section on the main website with Ctrl-F you can just search for In the North and you will find William Steele 1: In the North

Btw. what Kernel do you use? Sometimes switching to a different kernel can help.

Would it help to get the 2.09 Full edition on Moddb (which is the whole installation in one zip) and then use the installer to update to 2.09a ? Weird enough, the full edition download does not include the installer, so this needs to be downloaded seperatly.

I'm sorry, but I'm using Manjaro linux xfce and I can't reproduce this issue, maybe it's in combination with certain hardware?

This mission's intro plays the Dark Mod logo 2 times
I haven't played the rest, so I have nothing to say about that yet.

I think for some of these tips it'd be useful to have small icons so mappers can see what to look for.
Or a small/short gif animation. This is good for descriptions that are a little difficult to visualize in your head at first.

I would really like to be able to disable also the clicks for (almost) every menu item.

Although we would be glad if you catch and report bugs before the next beta phase starts
What is the right place to post bugs? I can do an error report in the bugtracker, but rather be sure if it's a bug before posting there.
I would guess TDM Tech Support, but it would clutter the other non-dev topics. Would be better I think if there is a subsection for that there.

(sorry wrong topic)

Yes, but my message was not (only) for you, it was more like an extra suggestion to the information you gave in your post.

In principle, you can unpack the guis directory and edit the files.
Well that's what I do now. I thought a cleaner way to force certain gui settings would've been nice, but then I just do it manually (after each version update).

Disabling indexing only has the consequence that the search for files on the disk take a little longer.
If you still want indexed search than you could use software Index Your Files . This software indexes your files in a database very fast and searches are also very fast. I see now that is multiplatform (Windows, Linux and Macos), so I could actually use it myself in Linux.

C) Custom title:
- hareinthesnare
- marshofrahena
Just a thought: Wouldn't it be better for readability if the words in the name are seperated with unserscores? So for example marsh_of_rahena . Is there a naming rule for the mission folder, or is this completely up to the modder?
Another thing: I think it would be nice if there is also a config file where in the player can do modifications to the gui of their own installation. I'm talking about things that don't intervene (too much) with mission specific modifications, like font size or background transparency. For example, personally I have changed a core file to change transparency of install_splash.tga from 0.2 to 0.3 .

I think a htpc with dedicated gpu is a better match for TDM.
"Grayman Avatar" painting (done)

For some reason I always associated Grayman's picture with a sword in a grave (sword in the sand in a grave). This became a little weird when he died..
