I'm excited about this mod's potential, and would like to contribute to the writing, once work on the campaign itself begins. I'm a journalist and a novelist (the former in English, the latter in Welsh), and I also write and design a level for the Hammerite Imperium project. I'd offer my services as a level designer, but my PC runs Doom 3 at a choppy rate that would result in much pulling out of the hair if I were to attempt to create a level for it. And you have much more talented level designers already. I've been playing Thief since the first demo was released all those years ago (with rope arrows at Baffords!) so I have fairly good knowledge of that universe.

AS with the last writer we had (he didn't quit, just kinda dissapeared) we'de have to see some sort of examples or what not. I'll let the team leads explain more.

Well, I make regular contributions to the Imperium blog. Look here. If I remember correctly there is a little bit of fictional Thief style writing on that blog as well. I also created this mini-blog from the point of view of a fictional character with a good grasp of English, found here, but that was ages ago. I could upload a few newspaper pieces I've written, but that kind of language is completely different from the kind of writing you'd want me to do. I'd give you a piece of a novel, but unless you can speak Welsh that would be of no use. :)

I won't disappear, anyway. I love Thief.

Macsen ye taffer what are you doing here ? The Imperium is not enough for you ? :D

I considered applying for a position here too, but it looks like they have plenty of concept artists.

Oh hey there Redface.

I suppose the disadvantage with the Imperium is that the story was already set in stone when Macsen joined, so he has little creative impact on the overall story.

Not sure if you can ever have too many concept artists, but I don't think we're looking for any right now.

Yes, but the Imperium story is so vast and epic it could house a 1,000 little stories within it. I'm not turning my back on the Imperium at all, I've just figured out that I have enough love for Thief to do both. Who needs sleep, eh? :D

I'd love to do some writing for this project as well. Is there any vague idea for the story yet, anything as far as what era it will take place in or who you want the main character to be? Or is it just wide open at this point?

I'd be very interested in jotting down some ideas and outlines and sending them your way - if you like them, fine, if not, you can just toss 'em out the window. ;)

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
