Has anyone ever tried making an extension for MSVC to allow coding in DoomScript inside MSVC, utilizing all it's power when it comes to search, highlights, hints, going to declarations and definition, etc. ?

Is it possible?

No and I don't know how it's done, but I wouldn't mind seeing one.

You could probably get it work my including a header that'd be ignored by the game compiler, something like

#ifdef __MSVC__

#define object struct

#include game_header.script

#endif // ifdef __MSVC__

struct instead of class so the members are public.

I can't think of any other redefinitions that'd be needed off hand, but there are probably some... It might work!

Nah, I would like to be able to search references, have hints for functions/variables when hovering over them, peek definition, etc. Just like when you code in C++. Highlighting can work (somewhat) by default if you use C++ highlighting.

      I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

      I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
