Frobable Object Required

I found out how to do the frob highlighting and now I need some object that I can use to implement for real tests. Frobing is not yet working, I only know how it has to be done, so I can't show you anything. But I have to create a new item for this and since I have to do it from scratch (almost) I was wondering if one of you has already an object ready which I can use for this. I was thinking on something where it seems to me that we already have some models. Like the flashbomb, an arrow or something similar. I would prefer a flashbomb as it is a little bit bigger (and thus can be better seen), but it doesn't really matter. :)

Well, we haven't got anything textured yet. Still working on it. What about a door?

What I'll do is build you a simple 2 room map with a door in the center using the new texture structure so you can test out the frob effect. I'll do it before I go to bed tonight.

I'm finishing up the new material file now. After that I have to do some 40 odd specular maps and redo the textures on my maps (plus finish up the gallery, which'll take about 5 minutes), plop it in Darkmod.pk4 and I'll finally be modready.

Speaking of the speculars....Spring, could you give me a hand with em? We'll split em in half and work on em seperately so I don't have to worry about rushing through it and compromising the quality.

Sure, just let me know which ones you'd like me to do. I have some extra time this week so it shouldn't be a problem.

BTW, did you get my PM about texturing objects? I can't see it in my sent folder, but I was sure I sent you one.

Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
