Ombrenuit
I do remember when this first came out, and it was a big deal for its time: innovative, fun, etc. But I don't feel like this game ages so well. And is it simply the multi-player? If so I'm not that excited. Edited January 16, 2007 by Ombrenuit

oDDity
Apparently it was very popular with, and an influence on, LGS members when making Thief. That's probably why Thief fans are expected to know about it. Gildoran
I'm not really a fan of movie conversions. I'm not a fan of movie conversions either, but I remember enjoying this game, especially playing the deathmatches against my brother. To quote wikipedia:GoldenEye 007 is well-known for the quality of its multiplayer deathmatch mode and its incorporation of stealth and varied objectives into the single player missions. The original sets that were created for the film were first converted into complete, believable virtual environments by one group of game designers; when this process was complete, other designers began populating them with objectives, characters and obstacles in order to create a balanced and fun game. As Martin Hollis explained, "The benefit of this sloppy unplanned approach was that many of the levels in the game have a realistic and non-linear feel. There are rooms with no direct relevance to the level. There are multiple routes across the level." Sound like any other game you know? sparhawk
Don't take my comment to seriously, but RtCW was definitely a great multiplayer experience and I played it for quite a long time. Don't know if there aer still servers around though, as the game is pretty old. Quote Gerhard
