This repository was created for the source files of models & animations:

https://darkmod.homelinux.com/svn/model_src

With tortoise svn, right click in the Doom 3 directory & checkout

https://darkmod.homelinux.com/svn/model_src

to:

doom3\darkmod\models\model_src (let tortoise create the directory for you)

Because all of the def files for the AI are exporting from this directory now.

Also there are repositories (empty at the moment) for texture sources (*.xcf gimp files, *.psd photoshop files), & sound sources:

https://darkmod.homelinux.com/svn/texture_src

https://darkmod.homelinux.com/svn/sound_src

If you checkout the source repository inside the main mod folder, take care when committing changes at the top of the main mod that you don't accidentally check in the source folder to the main repository in the process.

Do we only have to do this if we want to work with the original files, or will the AI not work if we don't go through these steps?

It isn't necessary if people want to work on the source files, but it's easier for riggers/animators to checkout to that directory because the exporter uses the models directory as its base.

So if someone checks out to darkmod/models/model_src then all they have to do is exportmodels tdm_ai_citywatch & all of the md5 files will go to their appropriate place.

I just tried that out. If you right click the darkmod folder & commit with tortoise, it'll ignore the model_src repository since that directory does not belong to the main mod directory. In order to commit changes in model_src then you'd have to right click that directory.

At any rate, it's safer to keep what you said in mind when committing.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
