Doom 3 Widescreen problem

Delete all the .cfg files in the game directory. Start Doom3, it will detect them missing and recreate just the ones you need with the default settings. Exit the game. Go to the DoomConfig.cfg, and make your changes. Don't just add the changes to the end of the file, but change r_mode to "-1", don't just add "seta r_mode -1" to the end of the file.

 

Once you've changed the settings you want in the file, close it and change it to "Read Only" so Doom3 can't change it back even if it wants. You shouldn't have to do the last step, but when I had this problem before it was either "Read Only" mode or reinstall Doom3 until it stops being retarded.

For TDM, this is a non-issue, as we have all these settings handled via our menus.
