Hi guys,
i created this topic because i and my friend want to translate the dark mod in italian. :)

I'm a Thief Italia's member, and i have translated all T2X in italian and another 5 FM.B)

Because italian people doesn't know english very well, i want translate this mod for Doom 3, but i want ask some things.

1- Can i translate the mod, or there are any problems?
2-I'm looking for the effectively usable text, but i found only "training_mission.xd" and "english.lang". Where are located other files?
3-are there subtitles for the IA speeches?

Hi, and welcome!

I don't think we've got localization set up for Italian, but I'm sure Tels wouldn't reject help. Take a look at the translation/localization thread here and offer your help. :)

There was a proof of concept for subtitles some time ago. But the creator evidently abandoned it before it was officially put into the mod.

This is the italian translation for Business As Usual. The original files were taken from http://www.bloodgate...m/pub/pk4/i18n/ so it's not compatible with the version of the internal downloader. http://www.mediafire...cn5ovg3n5o1uco7

There are some fixes: the original file don't shows the string: "Mission Loaded - Please Wait" and the text in the briefing (mainmenu_briefing.gui) was substituted with strings and now is ready for other languages.

Ah thanks for that Knymed, I now have Spanish and italian translation for my map, so I will have to sit down and learn how to make my map international.

@ Tels, if its not too much trouble I'll be in touch in touch in due course should I need a hand etc.

"business as usual" is already internationalized. i think it was tels who made it. on the link http://www.bloodgate...m/pub/pk4/i18n/ there are two files for business as usual. one has the assets, texture and the text converted in strings, the other has the translations. i've used the last as a model for the italian translation

Cool :) I guess it is ok if I replace the files on bloodgate.com with your new version?

Ah, then we have to re-run the script and somehow fit the already existing translations back into the new version. No real problem, just more work :)

Btw, I really think we need some easier way for translators to share back their translation work. The current model (they post it somewhere, I download it, then upload it to bloodgate.com, where players never find it) doesn't really work or scale.
