Here's some marble-floors I built in Photoshop: Main texture and 2 trim textures. Same as above. A somewhat more martial design. A variation of the above pattern. And finally a very Builderesqe design. Cheers gleeful

Thanks for the feedback people! I dirtified the stonefans and posted smaller (and updated) screenshots. I don't have any webspace at my disposal I'm afraid - we can do it via FTP again if you like.

Greetings everyone! I've made quite a few textures whilst mapping in the course of the last year and now I feel it's finally time to share some of them (namely the better ones). The quality of the textures is not constant I'm afraid (those textures which were modelled will invariably look much better than those made purely in PS), but I'll just include everything I deem usable for now and leave the final decision to you. This thread is of course especially directed at Gildoran, but I would greatly appreciate everyone's input ansuggestions. Here we go: Cobblestones (modelled). Stonefan with grass beneath (modelled). Stonefan with earth beneath (modelled). Hope you like them - lots more to come. Gotta run, gleeful

That'd be smarter, yes. Just give me a little time, I'm just about to finish a pretty big texture-package which I want to contribute.

Yeah, I think I will - I'll just have to figure out how to use the Cvs for uploads. Do I just put my stuff into the original TDM folders? Is that it?
-
I know, Dram, thanks! I'm using models for most normalmaps too nowadays - it's things like that great grimy glass (things you can't model or get from a photograph easily) that stunt me for now. Not much of a painter, me.
-
So you did use photosources. I was pretty sure you were creating them from scratch with filters. Thanks gleeful

I work mostly from photosources when making textures and was wondering how a nice, detailed and dirty windowglass like this one was made: Did some experimenting, but the results were not satisfactory. I would greatly appreciate a tutorial from the person who did this (or anyone else who knows how it is done). Thank you gleeful

Welcome, russkiy_og!

Hehe! Again, really excellent work! Kind Regards gleeful

"Fullbright" is what it's called by the way! And -fear not- it looks pretty good.
-
You can very easily adjust the brightness of frobbed objects in the textures' material shader. Out of the "box" TDM will aim for a brightness level similar to the original Thief games as far as I can tell. Kind Regards gleeful

Hehe, my first thought was: "Who the hell is Hattrick?". Ahem. Happy Birthday, Fingernail! Kind Regards gleeful

Happy Birthday, New Horizon! Do get arrested - that's something memorable for later on in life! Kind Regards gleeful

Wow, those are some fantastic models, Magnesius! I wasn't even aware of your existence up until now I must admit. Edit: Ok, that's because you're brandnew! Keep it up, please! Kind Regards gleeful

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Schatten! Have a good one and celebrate it excessively! Kind Regards gleeful

I'd say as a rule: as little as possible, whilst keeping the level of quality the majority of the models have. A character can have about 6000 polys I would say, while ideally even a complex piece of furniture should not exceed 1000 polys. Apart from that very nice work! Kind Regards gleeful

Greetings, Bukary! There are some very nice screenshots on that page you linked to. Can't wait to see what you can do with a kick-ass engine like Doom 3's. Kind Regards gleeful P.S.: I can confirm that.

it just went gold and will ship march 20th by the way. kind regards gleeful

very nice demo-reel, Gameking! looking forward to your contributions, gleeful

EDIT: oh, it's a joke! kind regards gleeful

as you posted this in textures: if you mean non-transparent areas on the glass-texture the answer is no i'm afraid, cause the shader used for glass makes the whole thing transparent. kind regards gleeful
