  1. Sorry for the double post it's not my fault.
  2. Hi John5, I don't run an ATI card at the moment but have in the past. I suggest you change some setting and see if your frame rate improves as Bikerdude eluded to above there are many settings that can effect performance. Try changing some advanced settings within TDM and keep all setting in the CCC to default with the exception of: Turn anti aliasing off. Try changing these settings to simple or normal. These settings should be anti aliasing off and anisotropic 8X max for your setup I would think. Vsync is almost always better on as the game engine is as I understand it coded to time at a 60 Hz refresh rate. So if the hardware is not capable of producing more than this then Vertical synchronization can help to minimize choppiness. Just a suggestion and don't give up as your setup is pretty good and should perform well. You may also try a resolution of 1280 X 720. It also makes me think that the problem could be something else running in the background as freezing in game is usually due to processor limitation and the I3 your running has plenty of cycles to spare.
  3. I got there too, Yesterday. Rope arrows lend a sense of possibility and then it's all up to the player. I'm a slave for investigation in TDM missions. Very cool mission to say the least.
  4. @Moonbo Hats off! This should be included with st Lucia as an introduction to the steam punk stealth universe. IMHO The story telling and immersive nature of the mission is AAA class. To be honest I am awestruck with the feel and style of the story, Detail in mapping and methods used (Puzzles) that I'm depressed I can not come close:( Has to be up there with Springheel's masterful missions from the Thief2 era. TAKE NOTE PEOPLE THIS IS THE SHIZNICK. I wounder how it would look & play through Oculus rift. Well done.
  5. Congratulations Moonbo and those that contributed. Sounds awesome about to download. Looks like TheDarkMod.com is down. I can't open the page so I'll have to DL from another link.
  6. Cool thanks Obsstorte Are the different pieces in the argument entered like bita, bitb, bitc, bite, etc...? Ah. From DR def_flinder: For objects that have a 'health' set, multiple flinder objects (e.g. def_flinder, def_flinder_1 etc.) can be defined with this spawnarg. When the object is destroyed, these flinders are then spawned. The offset for each flinder objects can be set with 'flinder_offset'. Will get to it.
  7. Thanks Sotha: Got distracted with adding AI now but will be Looking into it. I noticed Flinder there in the arguments list but never knew what it was for. mmm. Must experiment, But for now I'm carrying on with my distraction adding Revenant AI and paths. Gotta work next 2 days so wont get the time till weeks end.
  8. Thanks Obsttorte I used Func_fracture on the first and when it breaks up the frame rate goes to 1-2 fps for 4-6 secs as the pieces brake up and fall to fade. Screen shot of bottom in DR: Screen shot of top in DR: Screen shot of bottom in game: Screen shot of top in game: I've changed the sounds to suit what it is. An ice shelf, With a broken bit that can be destroyed when damaged. Why is it hollow in game? I wounder how I can make it look right in game, It's not bad but would be better if it looked solid and dense.
  9. Hi guy's Hoping some one can spare a little time to help me out. I need a couple of platforms (WS Brush) to disintegrate. The first one when hit a couple of times or is damaged to a point. The second will be triggered using a trigger once. What is the best way to go about it? Should I be using func_damagable or func_fracture or is there something more appropriate?
  10. No worries Moonbo Looking forward to your release:)
  11. @ grayman I can spare some time if you still need some beta testing. PM me if so.
  12. @Moonbo From the screen shots you posted it looks like this is going to be a great mission. I'm running TDM2.0 and could spare some time if you still need someone else to beta test. PM me if so.
  13. Any animal can be seen as strange but AI animals are predictable.
  14. I run MSI afterburner and have a gigabyte graphics card. It is a good app for capturing video, screen shots or overclocking and displaying real time data on the screen for the active graphics card/cards and will work with most cards. I have found one weird bug where if I select the compass in TDM the OSD ( on screen display ) moves the OSD type on the screen temporarily as if I changed the display resolution. It does not seem to effect anything really but it's curious and needs to be seen. I tried to take a screen shot and it's not working properly. This is what I end up with but not what is displayed on screen during play: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=F7539D361BD41522!188&authkey=!AIBZiw_9kt8S8Mc
  15. Laying on the ground is referred to as prone and is used in a lot of war games. Prone is something that has to be very carefully implemented in the engine. For instance if one can prone (lay down) does a tree trunk block the AI view? does a shrub block the AI View? From the prone position does the jump key make the player stand up or jump? I can see a deul stage key implemented so the first press crouches, The second prone or lay down, The third press crouches and the fourth back to standing.
  16. I would suggest to the developers that all who contribute in the development should be playing T2X (which I was led to believe was a free total conversion) and is awesome, Or TTMA or better yet some big mods for TTMA to really sink them selves in to what a game of stealth and story means to the player. Game play is second only to story in a single player game. I think these days there are too many developers trying to incorporate multiplayer elements of games into single player games. This is evident in the latest Saints Row 4, Which is a great game and well thought out multi player game. Fundamentally a multi player game the developers have made an engrossing and at times hilarious single player experience that is long enough to keep the player hooked till the end.
  17. Perhaps they should include a copy of the original thief or better yet thief the metal age with the game as some sort of flashback from the future or something? This would work well for the developers and the end user if incorporated properly as either a bonus with the new game or part of the game as a side quest/game or some such. Ideas they should be thinking about anyway IMHO.
  18. Some times it helps to increase the gamma and brightness when taking screen shots so it's easier to see online. I tend to, If in window mode increase gamma/brightness to near max and use the clipper tool in windows vista/7/8 to capture a section saving it as .jpg. If I take screen shots in full screen I tend to use gimp to adjust levels and clip a section for upload.
  19. @ Sir Taffsalot I thought your mission was good. there were a couple of things that may or may not have been picked up during beta testing so I will mention them here and you can decide weather or not to fix them as there not a game changer. This fence could do with a bit of TLC in DR, Not connected on the corner and 1 missing single spiked upright on the end: The top of the balustrade is not being drawn, not sure if it`s my install of TDM 2.0 or not: Over all I liked it. The map also lends it's self to some secret wall tunnels and would have made getting around a bit easier. It was hard but gratifying, When you get spotted and run to hide being chased by 2-3 guards, Always brings a smile to my face. Congrats
  20. @ springheel Sorry if I misinterpreted your post. You may have meant [and] in the context of including all knowledge of DR and I posses little if any of the shit caused by the word {and}.... so typo perhaps.
  21. This sentence should read as :You have TDM 2.0, so you should be mapping far away from any D3 assets. Then if something shows up, you know you can use it. Only one letter out of place (d) should be (y) as in away which was in the sentence. {From and} do not convey any meaning in the present and makes no sense in any context because {from} is some thing in the past, {and} is some thing included either now in the present or in the context of the sentence. Hope this did not offend in any way but English is the made up language of all others so it needs it's rules to be adhered too in order to be admissible as any language does.
  22. A quick Question about a sound effect asset. Is the sound located at base/sound/ed/earthquake/rubble9_basso.wav a sound I can use in my mission or not? As it has basso in the name I thought it may have been something someone made for inclusion in the darkmod sound shader list and either was missed or could not be included for legal reasons.
  23. @Kvorning Played all last night and finished today. I thought it was fantastic. There were a couple of things I made a video of them: Black Chairs: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=F7539D361BD41522!186&authkey=!AChrX59PemiWvlQ Picture not positioned against wall: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=F7539D361BD41522!187&authkey=!AJHgttMtOy_zyX0 I only managed about 4900 odd loot. I found that some of the pickable pockets where almost too hard as the purse was too far into the body. Suggest attaching them to the hip a little further out off the belt Unless this was the way you wanted it and in that case, Not all were as hard as some. Really cool map design, The climbing and overhead paths and things like that were awesome. Congrats and thanks for an enjoyable night.
  24. Yeah the performance was a bit hard on the GPU & CPU as I recall. Are you running it on the hardware in you signature? Only thing I can suggest is lower resolution and no AA.
