As far as I understand all driver updates are within an .exe. Upon extracting all files the latest updater determined that my system doesn't fit the system requirements for this driver. After extraction and before installation. That means that the updater determines if it wants the driver on the system?​ The InstallShield Wizard. My laptop seems to be a Sixth generation graphics processor because it's a Celeron B830. From the link you gave me, instructions link to the same list I used to get the latest drivers. I'll try to narrow down the search and see what comes. Update 21:20 None of those drivers will install for the same reason that the system is outdated. I guess the stock driver finder knows better.

I've deleted my Darkmod.cfg entirely and created a new one. Whereas autoexec.cfg has only: "seta r_displayRefresh "60" seta r_skipDepthCapture "1" seta cm_backFaceCull "1" seta s_force22kHz "1" seta s_noSound "1"" Game works alright with all FM's and no sound.

seta s_playDefaultSound "1" It was set to "1" not "0". Now TDM works and loads completely. Will try to mess if these are the only settings that prevent to load missions.

With a little free time on my hands wanted to open the .pak files to get the music at least. But even here the files are of a special breed. Some info from the internets: "PAK files are primarily used by video games but may also be used by other applications such as the Google Chrome web browser. The format for a PAK file used by one game may differ from the PAK format used for a different game. Therefore, you may have to try multiple programs before opening your PAK file." And so, none of those Quake programs work to unlock these .pak files!

This system does not allow the minimum system requirements to install this program Guess, the drivers are at fault than. Sorry for bothering everyone. Will have to wait until desktop PC works to see how 2.06 works.

It is just like DxDiag says an ASUS X301A1. I wasn't aware there could be a Radeon video card. DxDiag_laptop.txt

The file seems to work. It has 27 kb. tdm_update only finds it necessary to update stlucia.pk4

Win 10, 64 bit. Applied all permissions to the folder. Did not help.

Changed it in Darkmod.cfg No progress.

Downloaded the new 2.06 update on laptop. 2.05 worked decently. When starting any FM, the load screen goes for about 5 seconds into progress. When the bar goes a little after the start, the game reverts back to the briefing screen and all sound disappears. If pressing start mission again, it does the same thing, sound still gone. Doesn't matter which FM to try, even training mission. No error message or crashing. No freezing. Tried different settings including performance tweaks in the wiki. What could be wrong?
