  1. What's so good about radiosity compared with the D3 system of lighting?
  2. The map's not sealed or anything. It's far easier to just take piccies from the editor preview window.
  3. Doing a bit of a city, with snow on the ground. Slowed down now I'm at uni. I'll post a few shots.
  4. I got a half-finished TDM map off someone, but it needed retexturing and doing all the models again as it was from an old version. And even with all the architecture done it's still hard work.
  5. " J: I want to make money M: Will you shake your bootY? J: You are crazy. M: Oh you! J: No. M: You don't like the gays? J: Don't change the subject. M: I was speaking in a camp manner, and you said 'no.' J: No you weren't." Pff. I wouldn't go down the pub with him.
  6. End cap with inverted cap (or whichever one it is that gives the result I mean )? Then you get a flush square cap on the end.
  7. Do you mean so the textures align properly? Or just texturing more than 1 face at a time?
  8. Ah wow! They are amazing. Can we TDM them, give them all the maps etc. I really want some lovely rich warm TG feeling missions.
  9. Heh. "Well you're best bet'd be to become a beta mapper." No wonder! It's wrong. "Your best bet'd be to become a beta mapper." It's good English. Say it out loud, it's fine.
  10. By the way, I don't think anyone saw this, I've done the same, RAR file of textures uploaded: http://www.filefactory.com/file/57a755/ I like Alhaste's textures, could use them. I like the glass in the windows, very TII style! Only to be used carefully, in lit areas so that 1 layer only is ever seen of course.
  11. Agreed on vertex and subtract/shapes etc. It's a right bugger to lose a map because of bugs.
  12. They don't seem to do anything for me. Leave 'em be.
  13. Um. Yeah I know. I made my own thiefy textures for D3ed before I was a beta mapper and had the resources. And I still use the odd custom texture. GIMP is your friend. You can easily create tiling textures. Edit: Ah you're a new beta mapper. Welcome!
  14. Be better off watching that Nightblade (that right?) for UT. Oddity models for them as well.
  15. I used that really simple modelling/ anim program (might have been Blender) to make a little man made of prims who ran, exported the anim as a gif, and used it in Game Maker. That was ok. Proper modelling would probably make my brain fry. Mind you I was rubbish at Game Maker. I got by, very workmanlike, the solutions I came up with were really really inelegant and long winded. I just don't have that natural skill. I like mapping though. That's really easy in comparison.
  16. Not very nice though having little worms crawling out your arse the whole time.
  17. LOL, I like it. She's thin enough for it. When I see photos of her I just don't get what the fuss is about. Why would anyone think her particularly attractive? She should eat more cake.
  18. A miscalculation in the 3D skybox results in a giant skyscraper. Nice.
  19. Oh boy wrapping and edge lining up would be good! Imagine how easy diagonal pieces of wood would become! Also: Will your render be more accurate than the D3ed one, which bugs as soon as there is a lot of stuff in the map?
  20. I've started using Darkradiant alongside D3ed. Here's what I wish for: Media browser, Faster render, so that flipping from camera to render view doesn't take 5 seconds.
  21. That reminds me: can you put up a tutorial of how to get ambients working in areas, so that you walk into the house and a different ambient to the outside one comes on etc
  22. Spitter did the room one, with the rough brick on the wall. Someone veteran did the blackjack hall one, SneaksieDave? Dram?, but as SneaksieDave says above, it's nothing really. Very easy to do, probably just to test the mirror floor.
