  1. I just found the fix on the Lenovo site, the tablet is a Linx 8.1 & I've had it over a year now so I doubt a refund is available, but yeah if it were new & this happened, I'd be more than a little PO'd
  2. I've noticed an extra area, as it's Internal Development should I really be able to see it ?
  3. OK so I have a tablet with Win10 home on it, I basically use it for twitter & nothing else I have my connection set to metered to try & control when updates are downloaded, this didn't seem to stop the creators update from downloading a couple of weeks back but it did ask me when I'd like it installed as it's big, I'm pretty sure I didn't mess with the connection settings so I was surprised when the "Update & reboot/shutdown" appeared on the menu So I waited for a few weeks, naively thinking they'd have dealt with most of the issues, after all this has been around since ... what? October last year at least Yesterday I bit the bullet Seemed to work OK initially, until later in the evening when I turned the tablet on & found the touch screen no longer worked, which is a bit crap considering it's a tablet, connected a keyboard & managed to shutdown ok, rebooted a few times, same thing no touch screen I was about to send Microsoft the bill for bricking the tablet when I remembered it worked immediately after the update and the only difference was I was powering it via the charger So I shut down, connected the charger, turned it on, and lo there was life in the touch screen, so I had a portable tablet that was fine as long as I stayed tethered to a wall socket. Fairly obvious the touch screen driver APM was fubared and being disabled when on battery power, but I couldn't find a setting to turn it off, a quick internet search showed I wasn't the only one with this issue & I found a solution on the Lenovo forums which let me disable the APM for the touch screen via the registry https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-10/Thinkpad-8-Touchscreen-not-working-after-Windows-10-Fall/m-p/3853309#M5605 Should be adaptable for different hardware with the same issue The touch screen is still unresponsive the first time it's turned on, but putting it to sleep and then waking it with the power button sorts it out, not ideal but it works In my digging I noticed that this isn't so much an update as a complete replacement of the OS, so everything you removed because it was surplus to requirements has been put back, for example Cortana is back, which is something I don't want and never use but managed to disable, fortunately it can still be disabled using the same method presumably all the other crap I removed is back too, so I'll just have to remove it again
  4. One issue I found was That & I couldn't figure out how to use a slow match & spent a ages messing with candles to figure it out
  5. Yeah, I recently found I hadn't played Rowena's Curse, can't think how I missed it, for a first mission it's absolutely stunning, I just wish I could tell her
  6. You were born to play TDM & Thief really
  7. Yup that was it Have you opened the front door of the bank yet ? Helluva surprise
  8. Didn't Purah get headhunted by a games company for his work on fan missions ?
  9. I'm back in, looks like it was their database pw like freyk said, thanks
  10. Just tried looking at TTLG & got the following error Database Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1862] Your password has expired. To log in you must change it using a client that supports expired passwords. I get this on 2 different browsers Removed all saved passwords and cookies & still get it Anyone else having an issue or is it just me ?
  11. I wonder how long it'll be before the game companies start tracking down the best authors & offering jobs, if it hasn't happened already I believe it happened on TTLG Don't forget us when you're rich & famous
  12. Look in the Thief install folder for file "cam_ext.cfg" Edit it & scroll down to this section ; ------------- ; game specific ; ------------- ; enable new mantling code new_mantle if "new_mantle" is commented then remove the leading ";" Pretty sure that's the only setting to change And in the Wailing Keep mission your best bet is to sneak around the ethereal bad guys & do not engage them, the bigger ones can't be killed and killing the small ones draws attention
  13. I thought that was a easy jump Alternatively Have you got the new mantle setting turned on ? Hope you're throat op goes ok
  14. Quick question, there's a note in So is it possible to
  15. I seem to be 56.0 (64 bit) on Win 7, reporting as up to date, no issues that I can see
  16. This got a lot easier once A few minor points Excellent mission though
  17. Excellent mission, lots of places to explore one minor quibble though
  18. I prefer "A mission" style listings to "mission, A", sorted including the "A", but if that's not an option it would be nice if both listings matched
  19. Thanks, I did see black cubes around the horses but I forgot to mention them, it was Marbrien who reported them
  20. Quite enjoyed this, yes the outside was a bit heavy but once I got inside it was fine One thing I did notice with the Steward Also I there were some nicely placed windows with good climbing opportunities People in this house are very careless with rings I noticed Overall though nice mission, not too hard playing on expert
