  1. Ah! Good one. Just thought there'd might be a magic compressor/normalizing routine, because the built in compressor is sort of confusing.
  2. I can't seem to reproduce this. So, I've no idea. But while we're on the subject of Audacity and sound editing: When adjusting the volume to the desired level (I'm using Audacity), I've always worked on a line by line basis. Meaning I extract one part of a larger file and adjust it's volume and save it. But this can't be the best way to do things as the volume level will vary more or less in relation to another. So, how do you do it?
  3. Had this occur to me once very recently. It wasn't as long as 5 seconds, though. It's a mystery to me as well, I don't think I had any other tracks loaded at the time.

    Blue Madonna

@Aprilsister: A bit short on funding these days. But I'd really like to play one of these. If you had to recommend one, which one would it be?

    I can help

Fugitive_Line.mp3 Had a very prosperous vocal recording day today. Thought I'd post this homage to the movie "The Fugitive". Could be used for comic relief within a mission. Enjoy.
  6. You can't edit the post and paste in a new link without the "."? What if you empty your browser's cache.
  7. I think there's a "." at the end of the link. Remove it and you're good to go
  8. How do I turn the shaders back on? It was convenient to know what texture the rubble rocks were for instance. Now they don't show up in the preview or in the lighted 3d view.
  9. Hmm... I think I'm having some problems with my water entities. I'm not sure, though. Splash noises are heard when entering and exiting the water, but there are no actual swimming sounds. I'd swear I've heard swimming in other missions, but when testing to see now, there weren't any. So, perhaps there is none, but I've also notices some sounds in the library that appear to be missing or can't be located. So what's going on?
  10. Wow. Never heard of this. I live in a fortified fortress of me, myself and I (and a selected few) so... Anyway, interesting. In fact, very interesting.
  11. My god! I really like your stuff! Is that you on the various vocals as well?
  12. Ah! A fellow musician/composer! Have a site? Anywhere we could hear your stuff?
  13. Yes, thanks. If I split the patch up into smaller sections it seems to help.
  14. Has anyone had a chance to behold the errors of mine ways? And would take the time to point out what can be done?
  15. I don't think there'd be many surprises- after all I'm just a beginner so there's a lot of replicated other people until I find my own way. Hope that's okay, though. Here's a piece of the puzzle anyway. Thanks for the patience, guys. Or as the doctor says when he prays: "Thanks for the patients, God." http://oceanarts.net/Downloads/CAVE.map
  16. If I were to post the map... What files would be needed? Just the .map file?
  17. I'm guessing there's a console command for this. I can't seem to find any info on it.
  18. No. These are black lines and not limited to the highest point, and the textures don't seem to show correctly either. Screen provided, but it may be difficult to see.
  19. Got some issues with the patches that curve to form arched ceilings and also floors. There are glitches that run between the vertices. And I don't think I've seen that occur elsewhere. And I'm not able to fix it. Also, I've found that some instances of z-fighting only reveals itself when the textures are aligned/rotated a certain way. That's strange isn't it?
  20. That's really good. And you've managed to convey a unique atmosphere. I wanna' play now!
  21. Audio Briefing. Revisiting an old idea, because things are rather quiet upstairs at the moment. Spoiler Alert: http://oceanarts.net/Downloads/Special/tdm/audio/Brief_audio_01.mp3 Sometimes I try to inspire myself by recording stuff. I need to re-record it though, because of all the popping B's and P's and jumping between british and american accents. But I think the idea is solid enough, if not all that original.
  22. When's this engine going open source again? Wouldn't changing the code break the missions that are already released? Oh, you probably have a plan you cunning taffers you.
  23. Missed it the first time around, sadly. This is a great post, yeah!
  24. Thanks, Fidcal. That certainly helps. But I remember a mention in the wiki about floating debris on a river, with a teleport system at each end reusing the individual entities. How's that achieved if things won't initially float? Also, apologies to stgatilov for unintentionally hijacking the thread, but it is a related issue.
