  1. Aren't those specs pretty standard for a 'current' gen, gaming PC? Well done.
  2. Seemed like a pretty pointless petition to me. They've probably already decided that they will port it to PC. They're just going to do it after it's had a chance to be released 'exclusively' on the 360 for a while. Then, a few months down the line, a PC port will be announced. I thought stuff like that was pretty standard fare these days.
  3. Just played through the map for a second time, this time looking more at the mod than the level. Just a quick inquirey: As is at the moment, if you're close to a door and it opens it pushes the player around. Is that going to stay the same or will it be changed so they're like Thief where the door stops if you're in the way, or like Half Life where the doors swing straight through you? I'd personally prefer to have it as it either stops if it hits you, or it goes straight through you. Having the door physically push the player around is annoying and moving out of the way while opening a door is something I'd do without thinking, so I'd prefer not to have to think about it while playing a game. Another slight irk of mine is the 'weight' of the boxes and the chair and the lagging behind while moving it. I'm guessing the weights of things are set by the mappers, so it could be changed, but there was something off about how quickly I could turn, while the box would just drop behind me. Would it be possible to up the 'grip' on the object? It seems odd that I can hold it a good few feet away from my body, yet when I turn around I have to drop it. If the grip was a bit stronger, then I wouldn't mind waiting while it swung around to be in the correct "holding" position. Or perhaps if the turning speed was slowed down at the extremeties? So you could turn at normal speed while the object was still in sight, but when you turned further, your turn speed would be capped at the movement speed of the object. Does that make sense? Probably not. I'll leave it to you guys. All that said, I'm pretty certain I remember a thread here where you were discussing how boxes and carryables should work, and there was no simple solution, so if you don't change it I guess I'll get used to it. Other than that, it's incredibly impressive. Congratulations to everyone who's had a hand in it and good luck. I look forward to playing some FMs and having a go at mapping again when it's released proper.
  4. It seems I've failed I'm afraid. With less free time in the holidays than I had hoped and my deadlines for all my work being sooner than I had thought I'm afraid I won't be able to do any sort of "extra-curricular" work over the next couple of months so feel free to pass the task on to someone else if you want. I'll get back to you when I have some more free time on my hands. That is if [my] help is still wanted.... Feel free to kill my Applicant status as I don't feel worthy of it. I hope I can pull my shit together and help out at some point. Good luck with everything and sorry for wasting any of your time.
  5. Same here. Man, I just want to go up to Ronald McDonald and punch him square on his stupid, clown face.
  6. You want to use rockets? Pull up the console, type in a couple of cheat codes and away you go.
  7. A fear factor might be appropriate for a certain mission (such as a haunted catacomb or mansion) but it wouldn't make much sense for a GUARD, whose job is to be ready for anything, to get scared or spooked by boxes falling over and such, or to get anything but aggressive when someone slapped them around the ears. Therefore, it shouldn't be anything for the team behind TDM to even consider. If someone needs/wants it in their mission, they can then, personally, start looking into it.
  8. Hi. Sorry about the lack of word from myself. I've been pretty busy as of late with uni work. Anyhoo, now the holidays are coming up I'll have a couple of weeks try and get myself together enough to do some recording. Keep you posted.
  9. Does that mean you could make the sun set at the start of the mission and have it slowly(ish) turn into full blown night time?
  10. Cheers oDDity, and everyone else. Much appreciated.
  11. Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I'm doing a reinstall. My PC is getting on and my hard-drive is getting bloated with shit from the past 3-4 years and it's running slower than it used to, so I want to format and start fresh. I just want to know if it's a major hassle or if it's relatively painless. You say you did it often, but was that full formats or just reinstalling Windows? I can't afford to upgrade at all at the moment, and when I can the next PC I'm going to buy will probably be a Mac due to a lot of music software going solely to that platform.
  12. Spiders, perhaps? [Edit] I'm too slow it seems.
  13. I'm currently thinking of doing a format of my PC and reinstalling Windows and am curious about how much hassle it is to do? I assume it's harder than just doing a fresh install of Windows, though I've heard that doing so can work. Is that true? To get my PC back to an 'as new' state, would just reinstalling Windows do the trick? If not, what else would I have to do? Googling it seems to suggest that I should format first. If I do, do I then need to install the mobo drivers again and stuff? What plan of action should I take?
  14. Well then why not introduce a dustpan and brush, so you can sweep up the mess on the floor without making a horrible racket.
  15. The real fact of the matter is that you're not being a good enough thief. Pick your moments better, and don't hit the reload button if it all goes wrong.
  16. Is glass smashable in-game? If so, you could break a vase or something on the floor. This would also have the balancing factor of it making the guards suspicious when they walk on it, and would make it usable in most situations without having to create a new tool.
  17. Oh right. My bad. Haven't done any mapping since Jedi Knight.
  18. I imagine individual lights for each section of glass could be pretty resource hungry, unless I misunderstood.
  19. What, exactly, constitutes a console game? A lot of games these days are multiplatform and you can bet your sweet ass that Crysis is going to come out on at least one of the consoles, thus rendering it a console game. Will you start hating it when it does?
  20. Gravy. I'll see what I can do and I hope it'll be good enough to be of use.
  21. I'd quite like a go at doing the water effects. I assume you want them as dry (no pun intended) as possible, so effects like reverb and such can be added as necessary during gameplay?
  22. Righty. What's the current status of the sound library? As in: What's been done and what things need doing? What kind of format do the sounds have to be in? I'm assuming .WAV, but you may prefer something else. I'll more than happily perform a task or something to see if I'm of any use. Just tell me what I need to do, and I'll get to it.
  23. I'd be interested in doing some Foley work too, even if they weren't used for the mod in the end. Is there a list of sounds that you need that someone like myself could have a go at doing? Nothing high priority, just some bits and pieces?
