  1. I haven't had a chance to test this one either but some Doom3world folk are reporting that renaming the DOOM3.exe to darkathena.exe fixes these problems. (Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena) That shouldn't interfere if you launch TDM from the "Mods" menu in Doom 3 but I have no idea how tdmlauncher will react if you try to launch TDM directly...

  3. That jump is tough, I think you need to use the "lean forward" key (defaut "F")? You should first try a smaller mission like "The Outpost"

  6. Well the profile would only be for Doom 3, so other games should be alright CFX = Crossfire X (Eg. If you only have one video card, this has no relevance to you unless it's a monster multi-gpu card... )

  11. Rather than the generic ATI driver, I would try to find the one from your Video Card vendor's site...   12. I friggin' love this one You can beef-up the visuals even more by copying the glprogs folder from the Ruiner mod's pak666.pk4 into the mod install folder for this map.
  13. I certainly am interested. The big problem with Moddb (other than the "Authorization" delay) is that Video must be uploaded as a file unless you create an Article or News feature to embed a youtube into... They want to control the traffic and delivery... PM on it's way.

  15. I am really tempted to dust-off my Radeon 9500pro and see how bad it does on this one. I never tried it with TDM since Saint Lucia (which was just barely playable with low settings...). I guess I should also try my 7300GT while I'm at it. Does New Horizon still have that FX5200 lying around? (Lowest hardware to test this map wins! )

  18. I've got to stop being so old-school and start using saves more often. I replay and replay all the time. That's probably why my FM backlog is so big too. The mission that I really really needed saves for was Stumpy's "Illusionist's Tower"... which sadly I deleted the saves because I wanted to upgrade to v1.03...
  19. I will be interested to see what comes of a UDK based Thief style game because it may portend what The Dark Mod will be like when Doom 3 goes GPL. I have a strong intuition that Doom 3 will be granted a UE3 style deferred renderer by the open source community. If that does not happen, it will be even more exciting to see Doom 3's immediate mode renderer be granted more modern abilities and face-off against UE3's approach with more of a fair fight. Of course (being open source) we probably will see both outcomes (engine-wise), and Doom 3 will be forked into each render style respectively.

  21. BTW: You really need to amend the mission description to relay how much better this performs. Your warning would make folks think that this is just as heavy on a system as the original. BTW Part II: GREAT JOB!
