  1. In the wiki, there is talk about a "potential" lore creature called Strigis, a mixture between the European Striga and the Mexican Owl Woman from the description. Would this be a species proper or another example of transformed human like Werebeasts?
  2. I could actually play it if it was on Steam, since that is something my uncle know how to install.
  3. I promoted The Dark Mod Forums and the game yesterday to a stream by Deadwing Dork. Even sent a super chat telling him to check out the forums. He said Thief 2 was better than Thief 1, never got to play Thief 3 but wanted to, and disliked Thief 2014.
  4. Doom Eternal is really fun, even if I do prefer the horror theme of Doom 3.
  5. I'd like that. Especially lorebooks, like on the Strigis, a proposed Owl-Woman creature in the Wiki list of creatures that hasn't been added yet. If I had to guess, though? The description makes me think of Hagravens from Skyrim.
  6. Hey, I don't own a Kindle, but I want to read the Shadowcursed "The Dark Mod" adventure book. Does anyone know if you can order hardcover versions of Kindle books?
  7. Interesting stuff! I love poring over the lore of the world, what was the backstory of the Spider Queens? Some sort of Pagan witch that did a ritual on herself to gain mastery over spiders or something?
  8. If I had to guess, Zombies as Zombies, Maggots as Ghouls, Lost Souls as Fire Elementals? But were there others?
  9. So, The Dark Mod was originally a modification of the Doom 3 engine, due to similar lighting abilities and physics between Doom 3 and Deadly Shadows. As such, some of the Doom 3 enemies were reskinned and used as enemies in the original version. In order for the game to be an original game, it had to use it's own engine in the newer, current versions of the game. As such, certain enemies have been cut and, due to difficulty recreating them with new movements, yet to be recreated. Can anyone post what those enemies were and what Doom 3 creature they used the skeletons of?
  10. What about "The Plague of the Crown" because The Emperor was the first one to contract it whilst on a diplomatic trip, and it spread rapidly throughout Civitas?
  11. So, as an idea, what about making random books for different missions featuring lore and history about the Dark Mod world scattered about the world, like in Oblivion and Skyrim? Examples could include "Habits and Cultures of the Various Beastfolk", "History's Most Infamous Necromancers", "Menoa: The Rising Threat", and "The Horselords of the East"
  12. Something about plague, you guys could build. Zombies, a knockoff of The Gloom, plain old cholera, you name it.
  13. So, in the original Thief series, magic is highly regulated, there is only one ruling sanctioned church of one god which is pretty controlling and brutish, and nonhumans are killed on sight as monsters. So, how badly would things go south if the Thief world was a small chain of islands near Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls, and they encountered Empire explorers? Would it kick off a brutal genocide and conquering of the main continent by the more advanced City? Or would the advanced magic of The Empire's citizens result in the City becoming a vassal of the Empire?

    Gloomwood

Tell me more about Gloomwood. What sort of enemies and monsters are in it?
  15. I'm excited for it. The Amnesia series always had a Thief vibe going for me.
  16. Not so much that. I actually enjoy cloudy weather. It's just that I have only a window in my bathroom that shows sunlight. The Window on my door leads to underneath my family's deck, so no sun. Not a big neighborhood to walk through as it's a cul de sac in a small town in New Hampshire, too long to walk to the movies or library. So I stay inside in the dark all day. No new video games means I'm bored. Few shows that interest me right now on Netflix or Disney+, although Mandalorian and Witcher were good whilst they lasted.
  17. It sucks, though. Thief 2014 didn't live up to the standards of previous Thief games, so when the reviews by the few old fans who play it come in, and they are "ok, but not like the old games", it's like their CEO is trying to be a douche and punish us by saying "No more Thief then", when asked about a new (hopefully better) Thief game.
  18. Kind of bummed that the weekend is over. Been wishing a new collectathon platformer would release on PS4, I loved those as a kid. Hoping for something to break the soul-aching boredom I've been feeling. Wish my parents actually wanted to hang out with me on the weekends, although I get they work during the week, I'm 25, yeah. I'm autistic but high functioning, I go to a special ed program to get help preparing to live on my own when the state finally finds affordable housing for me, so.wthing that has been years waiting for and probably years more to wait for. I like my job at the Dollar store, just feeling shitty alone at home in the basement. Might be the lack of windows. I used to love the cool darkness, but it's been affecting my mental health. I need sun and nature and to talk with people I'm close to. Instead at home I'm locked in my basement apartment, there's nothing to do in my town without a car, I don't have a driver's license, and the shitty state program I go to off work requires strict time regulation. Doesn't help most of the people there are low functioning or neurotic. Okay, that's unfair, it's not shitty in and of itself. There are nice people who work there and rely on their services. But the new manager of the place is a total NPR "Islam can do no wrong" stickler to the rules idiot who makes even my autistic, liberal ass think of the 4channers' word "cuck" when he opens his egotistical, asshole mouth. I fucking can't stand him. I wish his predecessor was still in charge, she gave the caretakers more freedom in what they could do with their charges.

    Gloomwood

If I ever get a new gaming laptop, I'll have to see to getting Gloomdwood and the Dark Mod installed. What is Gloomwood about, anyways?
  20. I also miss unlockable cheats and secret bonus levels for collecting all other collectables.

    Gloomwood

This is giving me They Hunger flashbacks, I loved that game. I actually have a thread I started but nobody replied to featuring They Hunger's history and how I was searching for more info on Neil Manke's whereabouts. This game looks really good, too. Too bad I'm a console kiddie for the foreseeable future. My laptop broke years back, and I have nobody with the time or experience to help me restart my PC gaming
  22. Let's say, hypothetically, your body was mangled in an accident. But, by stroke of luck, Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk or someone decides YOU are the lucky bastard that they'll spend high-tech charity on. They can remove your brain and put it in an immobile canister to keep you alive, with a face screen to see out of. You can still talk to visiting family or watch T.V., but that gets boring. So Elon/Jeff/Smartypants Whoever decides to give your life machine a great upgrade: You are able to have video games uploaded as actual Virtual Reality worlds you can inhabit. So, what games would you guys choose if you had such an option to live in them? Personally? I would choose the original spyro trilogy, probably reignited for the better graphics, followed by the original Thief trilogy, the 2014 Thief, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko, the Sly Cooper series, the inFamous series but especially Festival of Blood, Borderlands series especially Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, the Uncharted series, Left 4 Dead and Half Life 2, Vermintide series, Resident Evil series because I'd love to own a badass mansion full of monsters, the House of the Dead Overkill, Starcraft Warcraft and Diablo series, the Ratchet and Clank series, Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series, I'd love to live in these worlds as long as I wasn't in danger of actually dying. At least as long as I'm not stuck without any actual human interaction, it would be cool!
  23. All games need more Easter eggs. I personally miss when games had lots of references to other games and movies littered about, like in Spyro 3 when Moneybags threatened to turn Spyro into a blue hedgehog, or in Duke Nukem Forever where he finds Isaac Clarke's severed head and exclaims "That's one "Dead Space" marine"
  24. So, for sources of ideas for Gothic Horror-Low Fantasy, some settings that I feel are useful for worldbuilding inspiration that could work as Easter Eggs in TDM are Dark Souls, with a sword in a bonfire. Bloodborne, references to a werebeast outbreak in a city called Yharnam. Ravenloft, you could reference a vampire count named Strahd. Warhammer Fantasy, you could mention Witch Hunters that work for the Builder church. Any other Easter egg references you have ideas for in missions, or missions that already have Easter Eggs in them?
  25. Exactly. Not only do we make a better world ecosystem wise, but we also stab Islam in its heart, which pumps the blood of murdered innocents and oil. A whole shit-ton of black gold, as oil is referred to by fat Texan oil magnates in all white suit with a huge golden bullskull-emblazoned buckle and overtly tall ten gallon hat, white mustache and deep southern drawl sold separately
