  1. What performance do you get in the menu just after game load? That's weird. I just updated SVN and built binaries from source. Now performance dropped 100+ FPS
  2. Interesting that they would complain but not here, on the official forums. If enough people bring it up, it's always looked at, even if there's no one who can actively work on it.
  3. Which makes me a bit sad, when AMD finally fixed their OpenGL drivers, I was getting a good performance boost from that feature.
  4. Just keep in mind, my post was super generalized and not technically correct, it's way more in depth than that. Check this one out:
  5. No, stencils shadows work by projecting, so they'll project the patch or model's tris. The grass itself is a texture. You would need shadow maps for that to work which we do have now.
  6. No but it's OpenGL so has the optimizations built in. I'm glad the non optimized performance is so much better though.
  7. On my cave map, I get another 20 fps.
  8. Hmm it's still a bit faster for me, with darkmod64.exe I get 200-207 fps at the start scene of Written in Stone. With it renamed to DoomX64.exe I get 215-220fps
  9. That's annoying though. And while the loading of missions is faster now on AMD cards, it's still way slower than my 1080ti Nvidia card.
  10. Try renaming darkmod.exe to doomx64.exe
  11. Do you have the ambient light brightness offset?
  12. When the Vulkan renderer is ready
  13. Except there's nothing routine about where the cat/player ends up in the under city. Cats never been there before, lots to explore. It's okay, the game is super cute, and graphics are wonderful. I gave it a second chance and re-purchased it and played for about an hour in the under city (whatever it's called). Talked to a few robots, did some puzzles (very basic). There were parts of the map that I should have been able to go, to reach areas that required 5 or 6 extra X presses to get to. Reminded me too much of the limitations baked into Thief 4, and I died on the inside.
  14. That....wasn't the complaint at all....... Have you ever had a cat? Or watched them traverse the world? Especially younger cats full of energy. I grew up with cats, watching them climb on everything, go everywhere, in trees alone walls, fences etc. Nimble and quick, able to jump super high. But in this game, all that stuff is abstracted away from the players control behind one button press. It's shallow, and boring and just makes me sad about what could have been.
  15. Oh it's certainly beautiful, that's for sure.
  16. Also, the distances that prompts would show up weren't consistent either. In one area I had to jump onto a chair, then an airconditioner thing, then onto a roof. In another area, the same height roof I was able to jump from the table directly to the roof. In one area I can climb onto the hand railing and walk along it, but in several other areas I didn't get the prompt so couldn't.
  17. It's not Mirror's Edge though, you can't climb on anything, you can jump or crouch when you want, only in scripted sequences. Even the first ad video on the steam store page shows the cat running from the little robots that chase you, and the cat jumps over the water to land on the other edge. You'd think in the game you'd have to time your jump to make it across but no, just wait til the Press X prompt appears and press X. Bleh, no thanks. It reminded me so much of the limited climbing/mantling in Thief 4, where you could rope arrow or claw climb, but only where the map designer decides.

Beautiful game, but didn't realize it's a linear Press X adventure, refunded it after 30 minutes.
  19. I just tested this, it takes 2 holy water arrows to kill the regular zombies, and 4 to kill the Lichs. This is the regular game, not with the patch. Playing on hardest difficulty.
  20. Haunts are the hardest enemies in the game, head shots like I'm doing in the video don't work as well. Also, try inverting the attack in the game settings, play around with it, lower combat difficulty.
