  1. Looks sweet. Dark Mod 2 then!
  2. ....and days later the van owner commits suicide over rising gas prices. Nice anecdote
  3. It seems though, that in the video the gas extinguishes certain torches just as the edge of the diffusion makes contact with the littlest trace of gas, rather than waiting for a believable amount to cover it. Especially with the top torches.
  4. Excellent diffusion of the gas in the arrow. Kudos to your team.
  5. LOL, 9 years. Yep, the TDM team was so upset at the oirignal Dark Project that they had to redux it
  6. Bah, it was a hot day up here, so in my delirium I called everything the CPU instead of tower, which is what I call the case. I usually don't overclock, and when I do it's only slight steps. I've been recommended this big strong fan to keep temp's down. Thanks for all the input
  7. I negligently left my computer uncleaned for a year. So yesterday my monitor started to glitch on me, distorting the screen whilst I was playing Mass Effect. Hoping it wasn’t the monitor, I cracked open the CPU and beheld the dust bowl that caked the CPU and the vidcard. I blasted those clean using compressed air. After cleaning it of dust thoroughly, I was surprised that not only did the processing run smoother, but the framerate was easily on avg. 5-10 fps greater. Being less technically knowledgeable than an educated computer geek leads me to ask some general maintenance questions: - How often should one clean out their CPU innards? - Are liquid cooling systems worth the trouble? Are they dangerous should they leak (beyond the obvious water on circuits)? - How about getting an improved CPU fan. Is that worth the price for the performance improvements it would garner? - Do any of these options contribute to safely overclocking to higher degrees? - Are these newer, meatier CPU’s (duals & quads) and vidcards (hamburger sized PCI-E’s) attracting more dust than older models did in the past?
  8. Can they still ask for money for their "product"? I guess until legal action is taken, they can still charge for "their" game.
  9. How embarrassing this will be if we recommend the one that is giving you grief. I recommend http://www.bluehost.com/, a crapload of unlimited stuff, prompt service, and limited downtime in my experience.
  10. It's like something David Lynch would do, but not creative.
  11. Hmmm, I guess not. I'd take the money, but having my name on the credits would be best, and a written reference is completely useless for my line of work. Good luck with the game though. I love the Master of Orion feel you've sunk into it.
  12. The only original shows I'm catching right now are Battlestar Galactica, the new Doctor Who eps, and Sarah Connor Chronicles. Of course, I watch the Daily Show in a regular basis.
  13. Does one get their name on the credits for doing this beta-testing?
  14. This doesn't surprise me, it's becoming tradition. By logical extension of the quick-buck mentality, creative plagiarism will be followed by artistic plagiarism will be followed by technical plagiarism...... Yep. We all know a creation completely done by popular consensus works every time, and that a single, unflinching vision is the root of failure. Heck, in this case you don't even need your own vision, just composite pieces of someone else's.
  15. How about an extra step for the guards to override the elevator and have it return upon pressing the button? Maybe they have to insert a key to allow instant control of the elevator's direction.
  16. Apparently I do, but I'm not inclined to. Visually they've always looked steampunkish to me, and I've not cared to delve into the mythos of Doctor Who to learn the fine details.
  17. I am totally absorbed within PC Mass Effect, to the point that anal retention caused me to spend the first several hours nitpicking the facegen settings for my Shepard. How is the Relevation novel? I've heard decent things, but only when compared to other videogame novels, which isn't saying much. As science fiction literature, does it stand up as great? Does it at least fill out Captain Anderson's character enough to make you really care about him?
  18. Isn't 'steampunk Dalek' redundant?
  19. Good lord, someone felt the need to explain how elevator's work realistically
  20. Yep. Ghost your drive on another hd, then update it every so often with new prog's by hot-swapping. Then all you would need to do is copy over files when Windows neccessitates a failure, or you feel performance has declined.
  21. And a painful barrier for interesting people in FPP games. Is there a way to relieve equilibrium balance disorders?
  22. Why? They both have incredibly low standards and are easily impressed by rehashed garbage?
  23. That's what I was expecting. Thanks for the response Has the elevator AI interaction been tested with different alert states? Will a highly-alerted AI keep it's alert state, and not have it broken or sent back to a regular patrol state, after completing the elevator circuit in search for the player character they've spotted?
  24. Man, those are some pretty square hairlines The elevator AI functionality looks good, but is there no collision detection between their finger & the button? Looks odd pointing in mid-air. The rats look excellent. I doubt this is important at all, but it makes me wonder: Are you going to include any cat & mouse interaction? Or is that something too low on the list, something that modders will need to include AI scripting for themselves?
