  1. hi all just read about this mod. i have been an avid fan of the thief universe since T1. i have a full home studio capable of numerous tasks in audio. A project this size seems a daunting task for one person though, so i ask that you find someone to help me if possible so we can section out the audio tasks, but if thats not possible it may take me a while to come up with everything (i do have a RL as well ) this is what i can give you... voice over work for characters in game, recorded from a high quality condenser mic, not some cheapo radio shack mic. I can give you ambience and environmental sound structures. i can also help with story content as well. So if you need my help please contact me. I don’t have any examples of “ambience projects” but I do have numerous tracks and recordings I could send you to outline my skills. I could send you my resume as well which shows my music activities and my time spent co-hosting a college radio show among other things. Peace LB foundryproductions@yahoo.com
  2. Hi! I'm the SFX/Music dictator here. I will be happy to keep you as my slave. Er, what I mean is, I like your work.. (Though not very Thiefish, but I guess you already know that.) Still, good quality on those samples, I think you'll be able to do some great stuff. One question: Are you into sound effects (doors closing, footsteps, swords clattering etc) as well, or is this a pure music/voices deal?
  3. ok all i uploaded a 4 minute sound reel for you all to check out. everything but the second (a song callaboration with dave lettero) and third (a song callaboration with mary-kate burns) and second to last (radio show) snippet are entirely done by me, meaning i produced/arranged or did the voice work. the piece is rendered at 96 Kbps, which is near CD quality. i rendered it at 96 to save the file from growing to large. thanks for checking it out http://www.soundclick.com/bands/3/liquidbronzemusic.htm peace LB
  4. Ok then, it's a date. I'm having problems with my internet connection ATM, and can only access from various friends computers, so don't despair if you don't hear from me in a while) I love your work on the main thief DeepOmega, very (n)ice. Having such great concept art really helps, huh? With Nightblade I'm just having to do all my own concepts, and they're quite derivitive and hackneyed for the most part.. If you could snag K^2 from the ion boards, it would be nice, he's knows a lot about scripting, writing shaders, plugins and all sorts of programing goodness. Pester him about it. He's also a great Thief fan. He and I are also involved in another mod for the forthcoming Halflife 2. I'm PM you his email Fingernail. edit: I have doom3 (shit game) but what other tools do I need? Have they released an SDK yet?
  5. Do you need some webspace to host a few tracks? If so I can help you out so you can demo your work to everyone else on the mod. We can't consider you unless you have an example shown upfront, so if that's the case just send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
  6. Yeah, Gothic/Romantic style will represent the majority, but just about any piece of art that fits with the ingame style will work.
  7. Dear Sir, I find your work . You will be let into the team. Yours ever , Fingernail. EDIT: We like Springheel too.
  8. I think we could definitely use some more character modellers, and your work looks fantastic. I'm sure Fingernail will hook you up with an account with some haste.
  9. As always Blackthief, beautiful work. I wish I could contribute in some way to the textures as well. Hopefully I can learn.
  10. great work again - you did also turn the hammer-symbol we should post this on the website and the mod-database.
  11. IMO I think that the 2nd one is better. The hammer is more decorative, as a priest would have more decorative type items. His physical proportions are better than the 1st. As in he looks taller and lankier vs. the short and squatty look the 1st drawing had. If you had made the 1st guy and wider and I would have thought he was a dwarf. I personally feel that priests should have that skinnier, almost frail look about them. It helps you underestimate the power that they hide within themselves. I like all of the decorative metal. It fits the religion. Especially since he is a priest. Cant really think of much else to criticize. Great work.
  12. The Thief model will probably be one we keep for ourselves. Since he's our main PC, I don't think it would be too good of an idea to spread him out among other mods and lessen his impact as a character. That's not to say we won't swap anything, you've got some excellent models over there that could work great for some of our stuff. But since I'm not the guy in charge of models it's not my call....we'll see what Finger and Spring say about it, but I could see some advantages to trading certain props and minor characters. Oh...and the music you've got on the site is awesome.
  13. lol, yeah..I know it's dark. Don't have any other choice til I get a good floor in. I'll probably work on it later today. Right now I'm still deciding on if I want a dirt or cracked and worn concrete...or both!
  14. Of course he doesn't NEED shoulder pads. But think. This is an order of metal-workers, who worshop a god whose greatest gift to man was the ability to work metal. Even their priests would be wearing a good deal of metal, imo, not just robes. And I definitely think they should carry a hammer, even if it is fairly ceremonial. I am up for a more robe-like appearance though...I'll see what I can come up with.
  15. Those of us using Blender to produce models for export to Doom3 Radiant will at some point need to install the Python programming language for the various plugin scripts that enable Blender to export to the file formats supported by Radiant. The process is not as streight forward as it could be, so here I am detailing the procedure for Windows users. Updating Blender Make sure you are running Blender 2.35 or later. Downloading and installing Python Download Python and run the setup program. Ensure that the destination directory for the install is the default: C:/Python23 Setting a System Variable for Python in Windows XP, 2000, NT For Python to work correctly with other software (such as blender) a system variable must be set. Open the Control Panel (in classic rather than catagory view for XP users) and open the System properties dialogue box. Select the Adavanced tab and press the Environment Variables button. Scroll through the list for System Variables and look for one called PYTHONPATH. If on does not exist you will need to create a new System Variable, otherwise you can edit the existing variable, by pressing the appropriate button. In the System Variable dialogue box enter: PYTHONPATH in the Variable Name text field and C:\Python23\lib;C:\Python23\;C:\Python23\DLLs;C:\Python23\tcl;C:\Python23\libs\ in the Variable Value text field. Setting a System Variable for Python in Windows 9x In notepad load the text file C:/autoexec.bat Add the following line: SET PYTHONPATH=C:\Python23\lib;C:\Python23\;C:\Python23\DLLs;C:\Python23\tcl;C:\Python23\libs\ (thats all one line by the way, without any line breaks that might appear in your browser) Save, reboot and off you go
  16. Yeah, making it look more robed, and possibly removing the shoulder pads, would work better in my mind. His proportion does seem to be off by a little, possibly it's the length of the arms. The hand holding the hammer, if fully extended, would touch his knee. Not that it really matters, considering this is just a first draft. Heck, my belcher was missing a full bone from his legs.
  17. Sadly IrfanView is windows only. Shame that, because it rocks. It seems to work OK with WINE at a push. Of course The GIMP can resize images. You'll be wanting to bolt on a batch processing extension to save you from having to go through all the images by hand.
  18. Here is a coloured version of our elite builder guards. I've replaced the chain mail here too. I'm not happy with the hammer, but we'll work on the weapons later. This is actually based on a historical set of armour I found pictures of. Very cool.
  19. heh, his hand position makes him look like a Gangstah. Other than that his legs are clearly too short. Still, good work.
  20. It depends on what you're wanting to achieve. Right now I'm working on a stone trim for my basement walls, it only needs to be 512x32 so why waste all that extra space on a much larger texture when all I intend to use it for is a thin strip? There are quite a few ways you can do paintings. You could design an actual frame and make the area designated for the painting transparent, you could design the picture and frame together (probably the best way to do it), or you could just do a small piece of wood (about 128x16 would work) that you can tile at an angle and build your painting out of 5 brushes. You could also model the paintings, but only if the frame is so ornate that you can't fake a good sense of depth using a normalmap. The actual picture itself will never need to be modelled since it's just a flat surface, you could give the impression of brushstrokes and oil thickness using normals.
  21. I used to have a nose. But nowadays I have to use this bannana. Otherwise that is looking a bit like a head. A head with very low ears. But yeah, its really good work. I'd quite like an ever so slightly pointier chin, and slightly fleshier cheeks just under the eyes there. Am I high maintanence? And not having a neck will help him hide in the shadows. I'm sorry. Apart from those things its fantastic
  22. Yes the burricks were very cute, but I always though they were cute in an ugly kind of way. Argh, don't know how to explain it really. Just keep up the good work and all will be fine.
  23. That's what the colour and symbol is for. Not to mention the hammer. I don't think anyone would fail to see the resemblance. (of course it would help if they both had the same symbol...still experimenting with that.) My view of the elite guards is that they would be Builders who had been with the church for many, many years, doing great work and training hard. They are now second only to the high priests in their piety and power. Their armour serves both a practical AND ceremonial purpose. It should be more ornate than the regular temple guards. Keep in mind that the colouring job is a little comic-bookish at the moment...they probably shouldn't be that bright.
  24. I tweaked the concept a bit - it's ugly (15min work), but you'll get an image. IMO it looks more medieval and has spanish style. I posted the original on the right side, so that you can compare better.
