Every time I've ever followed a link from another site to an "attention grabber" article title (which ended up being on Wired), it has turned out to be nothing more than long-winded go-nowhere over-written shit. Useless fluff basically. And I'm talking years of blind clicks. Leaves a scar after a while.

Fair enuf. Don't really know Wired beyond the fact that it's a remnant of the alternative mainstream <_< thing-joke.

I thought it might be something political. That's usually the only thing that gets me ticked off.

I expect most everything to be useless shit, so I'm rarely disappointed, and occasionally pleasantly pleased as punch.

I donno, every time I've picked one up in a doctors waiting room or whatever it's usually filled with articles about 'current' things that are blatantly old to anyone who has a clue and not just that they are incredibly old they are always sensationalized and seldom keep on topic. They also love a good stale story rehash to pad up content, these fluff pieces are more annoying than anything. A story about any topic always turns into some kind of meta-story about how its going to change everything and be groundbreaking or life threatening. The other problem is that Wired is aware that they have become a bit of a joke in the eyes of their old target market yet seem to make it worse by trying to look like they're still the 'same old'. The current target market are people who "stick it to the man" buy buying a mac or are the suburban renegades warriors of the e1337 ubuntu fan(boy) club.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
