Lockpick nit

In the shop, the "lockpick set" image that's displayed when you hover over that item in the inventory lists shows a bent pick and a circle pick.

These aren't used in the game.

A set has triangle and snake picks in it.

Does anyone care if the image is wrong?

If so, I can create a new one.

Funny, there used to be four lockpicks and they were the two that were removed. Personally I don't think the shop icon is too obvious but I don't think anyone would complain if you changed it. If you did you might make it a generic group just in case someone devises something different or the other two are brought back into the game. I always supported having four anyway. With just two it is almost always 'the other one' to use after you have used one of them so having to find the right one added to the gameplay and tension. Anyway, I lost that debate. ;)

Picks typically come in some type of case. I'll see if I can come up with an appropriate image and use that.

Thanks.

How come you are so knowledgeable about lockpick cases? ;)

Ummm, I watch a lot of detective shows????

Anyway, try this image:

In real life, this is the case for a Kodak camera, circa 1914. Inherited it from my wife's uncle.

Nice idea but to me it doesn't say lockpicks to me. I'd accept it if others want it but I'd probably try to point the lockpicks away somewhat and blur the ends so its not clear what they are. I'm out of ideas tonight though.

Can't find an FM with picks in the shop. I was thinking they might not be that visible anyway. But the shops icons are surprisingly clear and quite big.

All the images use actual inventory models, so any new lockpick image should do the same. I don't see any pressing need to change the current image, myself.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.
