General animation questions

Would the way this animation starts and ends in a different place cause any problems? I didn't think so since the run animation is that way, but in the idle_animations map, if i put this animation in by renaming it "idle_arm_scratch", the stationary ai return to the original position. Thanks

As long as it ends in the idle position, that's fine. That's essentially the same as the sit2stand animations. That would be great for characters sleeping on the ground.

Yeah, that's cool, because not everyone could afford a bed in these times! Nice!

Nice, i was going to have to make him fall backwards a little or redo the thing, which i already had to do twice since something weird happened. That character has his hands tied behind his back btw, but i can cut it into the sleep animation too.

While im thinking about it, i'll put the offer on the table create a idle-pose-to-walk [and run] transitional animation which would make situations where ai are doing a lot of stopping and starting, like opening a bunch of doors, look more interesting. Although i've been wondering what adding a little coded acceleration to the walk and run might look like for the Ai.

That would probably require some code support in order to use, I think.

If you're interested in making some animations that could go right into the game without any support, we could use some "eating" animation for sitting characters. This would include a new idle version, and some random idles. They would have to have a fork in one hand (the attached object would trigger the animations). Some stabbing and eating, perhaps wiping the mouth, etc.

Most of them use the same files as the proguard, just exported at a smaller scale. The new ones that I made should be on models_src...if they're not, I'll have to upload them tomorrow.

Mine is, but that's not necessary.

edit: Ok, the models_src/female animations folder is now up-to-date.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
