Okay wow, those guys are complete morons.

In one sentence he complains that the game kept outpacing his understanding of the mechanics and lurched all over the place, then in the next sentence he's admitting to skipping missions. It sounds like they didn't even play the tutorial mission either.

Then he's lamenting not having Mark of the Ninja style sound propagation circles and then admits to not learning the mechanics. I mean what the fuck? These are game designers? Every single thing he complained about in regards to the mechanics and pacing, is entirely his own fault for not playing the game or learning it's mechanics.

Ugh, the whole time I was shaking my head, I felt bad for Randy Smith, that he had to spend time listening to those morons and agreeing with them.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

I would love to hear what the original Thief devs think of TDM...if they've even heard of it....unfortunately, it seems like it never comes up in any of these interviews. Would be nice to know if they've had a chance to try it and if so, did they like it.

Concerning the original staff now working on thief 4, I guess that it won't be in the interest of the publishers if there developers mention a free alternative to there game ;)

 

But yes, it would be definetely good to get some feedback from some guys who did such a game as professionals. You can only learn, I guess.

None of the original staff work on Thief 4, it's a completely new team.

I thought I've heard something like that. Uhm, my mistake.

 

Maybe someone should write some of the original staff to try TDM out.

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
